We're still a decent side but I'm not sure Mourinho can take us further. Imagine we'll part ways at the end of the season so let's see.
Ed did back him for 6 windows. He bought Zlatan(gone), Mkhi(gone), Pogba(clashes with Jose), Lukaku(a donkey of a striker), Bailly(bench), Lindelof(consistent flaky performances), Sanchez(World Class suddenly turned to sh!t), Matic(erratic and increasingly looking slow physically as well as mentally). That is why Ed should have backed Jose on who he needs the past couple of windows. If Ed wants to do it slowly, then we as fans will have to be patient.
Nah, we just need to stop draping it over shit players. The number 7 shirt is officially cursed.
I said on another thread Lukaku should play from the right. He hasnt the skillset to be a target man. His strength is running with the ball and he could do this from the right and Rashford Martial or Sanchez could occuppy the middle. If we had Aguerro for example playing down the middle we would have loads more goals. We havent got a WC striker yet were supposed to be one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The worst part about this is that we'll likely be 8 points behind 2 clubs and 6 points behind another. I'm not even sure we're competing for top 3 at this point.

Not good but we can still get top four
but he's not got the technical ability to play on the right either - can't believe there was a time that people thought Nani wasn't good enoughI said on another thread Lukaku should play from the right. Well I think Satan would happily accept Mourinho. Anyone has a goats head?Sacrificial Mou and Sanchez lambs whilst we are at it? The football gods would probably not take them...
If they get anymore pedestrian there'll be hot dog stands on the pitch.
He isnt a 25 goals a season striker though. lets see if hes got a dozen by decemberI was on a flight, so didn't see the match (probably a benefit, by the sound of it).
However bad Lukaku was, though, bear in mind one stat - PL stats 6, goals 4. 1 goal every 1.5 games, or extending it to the rest of the season, he'd score 25.
I'm not a big fan of his (would have preferred Alvaro), but one needs to look at the big picture.
If he fails to score in the next 4-5 matches, then he may need to be dropped, but would you really drop a 25 goal a year striker after a stinker?
He looks like a player with a bit to much mileage on the clock.I flat out hate seeing Valencia still with this team.
94:02 at home to Wolves, 1-1. Any chance of an overlap to help Lukaku? Nope. He is 5 yards inside Wolves half playing it safe. Couldn't even reach the rebound because he was so far back. Indicative of everything about his game.
Gutless.
He has played from the right here and for Belgium. Dont know if he would last past 70-75 mins though, but be worth a try.I don't think Lukaku has the stamina to play on the wing all game. Correct me if I'm wrong and he has done it (perhaps for Belgium?).
I know loads want to see Martial at striker, but he should be on the LW given Sanchez's loss of pace. Play Sanchez at striker and see how he does. He was brilliant there in preseason. Put Rash or Lingard on the right, probably Lingard.
We are so behind the likes of Chelsea, City and Liverpool.
Lukaku was absolute dogshit.
The thing is that it very rarely works as a plan B.It is not pretty or desirable but at the moment it is the only realistic plan B we have , we could have have played for another couple of hours today and we would not have scored trying to play through.
We just don't have the quality when we come up against a well set up team. Like it or not the reality is the hoof and hope to Fellani is often our best chance of a goal when we are up against it.
This is how far we've fallen. And we're not finished yet, believe me. This is going to be a long, hard season with little comfort.
Sarri has shown you dont need ages to transform a team.
Sanchez used to be one of the best players in the PL, look at him nowNah, we just need to stop draping it over shit players.

Im just talking about what we have to work with. We could try Dalot with Young behind him I suppose, he can cross a ball.but he's not got the technical ability to play on the right either - can't believe there was a time that people thought Nani wasn't good enough
now we are trying to play Rashford (a 9 with limited creative passing ability) Lingard (average really) Lukaku (a player with limited technique and a heavy touch) or Mata (lacking physicality/pace)
I'd crawl through broken glass to get a young version of a typical winger like Nani back*
*I probably wouldn't in fairness
They were shit signings, borne out of desperation, who have been / were shit for us.I'm not saying the no. 7 shirt is cursed, but neither Di Maria nor Sanchez are shit players.
I was serious. There have already been rumours linking him to us.Not sure if this was said in jest but its actually a solid point. Yeah he's got little or no pedigree but if he finishes this season in a good position on the table, and we've already seen his body of work at a 'small' team, I'd say he deserves bigger things!

Chelsea are an anomoly in football. They can sack their manager every 2 years and still win titles. No other team in Europe can do this.
Do not use Chelsea as a blue print.

You're not really selling us on the idea. Do they play 4-4-2 or not?Go support Liverpool you fecking cretins. They have won feckall in the past 5 seasons you fecking bellends

Absolutely every big club does this. Every single one.

Such as?
Which club fires their manager every 2 years and win the title in the first year of the new hire.
Genuine question.
I love Tony V but he is very much done. He looked like a couple of times he wanted to go past the LB but you can’t tell he just seemed like he couldn’t will his body to do it. He’s done.

Barca
Real
Bayern
Chelsea

Juventus
They are all anomalies don't use them as blueprints.
The funny thing neither will we.City, Pool and Chelsea will not win every game, there's still time to go up.
McKenna (and Carrick) will make a big impact here. But it takes time. Why have the goals dried up this season?
No I was being facetious. They have all changed managers regularly and gone on to win league titles and/or Champion's leagues.Fully Fledged answered your question below, I would add PSG to that list.
Not sure if you are serious?
Serious or not, I just said that all big clubs change managers frequently. Except for Pep at Barca, I'd struggle to name a big club that had a manager for longer than three years over the last decade.
