Protest planned ahead of the Liverpool game

Tonight’s planned protest is already gaining some comparisons with the Super League protests 15 months ago after United cancelled a scheduled team meeting at The Lowry this afternoon.

The glaring difference last year was militant fans had the players penned in due to the bottleneck entry to the hotel, so there was no way out. At the stadium, the dressing rooms were breached and ‘contaminated’, so the fixture ceased to be Covid compliant.

Tonight is not a behind-closed-doors game and tens of thousands will travel to Old Trafford with every intention of clicking through the turnstiles. Those who are organising the protest appear to be set on entering the stadium.

United-Liverpool is the biggest game in Britain and people want to attend it, so the notion a hashtag trending might result in a sparse stadium pockmarked by empty seats is fanciful.

The game is a sell out, so the Glazers’ wallets have already been lined.

Lively bunch at the Tollgate now. Such a feck up they're not marching until 7pm. Would cause mayhem 30 mins earlier.

a "No shit Sherlock" line is good for Lockhurst. Of course the Glazer pockets are already lined and nobody is expecting the stadium to be empty - the point is to make as much noise as possible so that it becomes uncomfortable for them and more hassle than it's worth to keep

The Media are loving this, and they would love it even more if there were arrests and damage. This would overshadow the match, which maybe a good thing. It wouldn’t surprise me if a few infiltrators caused trouble. Scousers in disguise or City fans just finishing their bin rounds. Make a noise but no opportunity to make the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Luckhurst in bellend shocker.

It doesn’t matter that they already have the money from this fixture. The goal of the protest is to embarrass them on the international stage and encourage sponsors to make clear to the Glazers that they are poison and they don’t want to associate their brand with the club while they are there and the protests continue.

He really is a fecking embarrassment of a journalist

Well that’s like saying there’ll be issues at every protests, it’s not the intention of the protest so the idea of painting it as such is massively damaging.
You literally said nobody has any intention of getting it called off. Simply not true.

Why does he have to be such a condescending bellend about everything? He even writes in a way that makes you want to punch him.

He looks ill. Like he’s survived on one Rustlers burger every other day and a couple of litres of coffee since he was a kid.

Any good place to get live updated on the protests? Feels bigger/more important than the game to be honest

I'm not sure the "Joel Glazer's gonna die" chant is going to do the protestors PR image much good

Who cares about their PR image now. They are not threatening the leeches family physically. Just expressing their utter disgust
