5 subs, bin the league cup and fa cup replays. All sensible proposals. The pushback you’d get from that would be from lower league clubs re the cup proposals. That could be remedied by giving them a larger slice of the premier league licensing.

I like Ralf, a sensible and pragmatic person without the cheesiness and toothy faux nice guy persona of Klopp. Also has an actual opinion and suggested solution on things rather than Ole’s vibes response to every question during a presser.
Easy solution is that all draws vs clubs 2 divisions or more lower are away. An away draw is huge for the financing of those clubs.

Yes, as you know, we had last week, the last training session on Thursday, from there today, we had eight few players, three goalkeepers and then we closed the training ground for four days in order to break the chain and today was the third day of training this week.
We started on Tuesday, then trained yesterday and today and we have 25 field players, so quite apart from Paul Pogba, he's the only one missing out, everyone else is on board. The development of the last week was extremely positive.
We will train tomorrow and there will be a day off for the players on Christmas Day and then we have the last training session here on Sunday and fly to Newcastle Sunday evening.
it's great to hear this, this means Cavani & Varane are fit/recovered, hopefully they are slowly introduced to the upcoming matches.

Varane straight back in. Cavani and Ronaldo upfront. Cavani’s work covers for Ronaldo inabilitys.

Yeah Varane has been missed especially. We need to tread careful with his fitness and try to get him back on the pitch as much as possible.

He brings a calming influence we lack a lot in his absence.

Nor sure I agree with your last sentence.
He's only made 6 league appearances so it's too early to make it out he's been missed.
I think he will become as important to us as VVD is to Liverpool if he can stay fit.

We have no excuses over Xmas with a large squad of fit players and should be aiming for 9 points from the next 3 fixtures so we can come out firing on all cylinders in the new year !

Plenty of good rotation and no need to flog Ronaldo and Bruno to death playing full matches

In what we’ve seen of him both here and at Madrid we know he’s by far our best defender, so by default we’ve missed him imo.

If we can keep him fit he will be a huge boost for us. Especially if Ralf can sort out the mess of a midfield we have in front of the defence and we hopefully start playing his style of football.

He’s right about the league cup …should be a competition for the lower league teams only.
