Hojlunds confidence looked shot last year. It got worse and worse for him as the season went on. I do think he has the attributes to be able to do well as a back up forward over the next few years.
Zirkzee, I don’t think will ever have ability to lead a line like PL number 9s do.
I thought that before his injury Zirkzee did pretty well, but that was mainly when he played as a 10 right? His link up play and hold up play were decent though that's why I thought he could do better with goal scoring 10s. It's a different role, more similar to Firmino who had set up Salah nd Mane nicely. I could see him do that well but I agree that's not the typical striker in Amorim's system. As a backup option, why not? Him and Chido should share their playing times.Possible. But I’m not aware of Amorim ever using a false 9 at Sporting. He wants someone to lead the line and be able to hold the ball up. Admittedly, they ask skills that Hojlund needs work on, but he does have the physical attributes to be able to learn. Zirkzee never will.
