I’m not listing 50 goddamn right backs. That was clearly hyperbole. But it’s not difficult to rattle off a shitload.

[And do bear in mind I said in that same post that he has a claim to having the best single season from a right back in PL history]

But he’s not a better right back than;

Walker
Trippier
James
White

And that’s just the English right backs ahead of him right now. Trippier legs seem to be falling off now though admittedly.

The fella was phenomenal in that Liverpool team that did something new for a season or so. But it took no time at all to realise that the kid can’t defend. He’s got no positional awareness and became a target. He gets exposed all the time, doesn’t work hard enough and is in danger of being replaced in that spot at his own club right now.

Phenomenal footballer. Properly talented, but in every way that Foden has been managed and groomed into a world class talent by Pep, Trent is somehow three years past his peak and doesn’t seem to have a position anymore. It’s really weird, as Klopp loves him.

What a truly odd bunch they really are. No Henry, No Roy Keane, No Kane. I could go on
Kane can feck right off but Rooney over Henry? Not for me, and I'm not really a fan of Henry. Also, I'm not putting a single Liverpool defender anywhere near the XI.

If I had to go for it I'd say:

Schmeichel
Walker Campbell Rio Cole
De Bruyne Keane Scholes Ronaldo
Shearer Henry

So actually not a single Liverpool player anywhere tbh. At a push you could stretch to Salah RW and De Bruyne in the middle over Scholes but I'd probably choose Yaya over him anyway personally.

feck me - Robertson over Ashley fecking cole or dennis Irwin? Keane not being there is an absolute joke, but that entire back four fecking hell.

Stones, VVD, Trent and Robertson ?!

It's obviously between Neville/walker/Ivanovic - Vidic/Rio/Terry - Cole (nailed). None of them are even in the conversation.

I think there's a lot of debate to be had with these XIs, but any one that doesn't have Ashley Cole LB can be dismissed out of hand. He's the only nailed on cert where there's no one else even in the conversation.
I don’t think it’s that cut and dry for Cole? I’d say Irwin and Evra are in the conversation. But yes it’s a joke they’d have Robertson there.

It's an LFC account so I understand why they will put as few United players in but this just shows the accounts are run by kids. Even without United players it should be a much better team.

GK. Cech (although Allisson is a good shout).
RB. Walker
CB. VVD
CB. Terry
LB. Cole
CM. Kante
CM. Viera
CM. KDB
LW. Bale or probably Pires actually
CF. Henry
RW. Salah (this one is fine)

Yeah I said that too certainly, those two were great, but Cole was above them for me.
Irwin I’d have personally but Cole is always top pick whenever they do all time XI’s, I guess many (myself included) missed or only caught late Irwin and he spanned the first division becoming the PL as well.

Where would Jens Lehmann sit on the list? He was a big part of that great Arsenal side between 03 and 06 and actually won Serie A, the Bundesliga, and the Premier League in tbe space of 6 seasons.

He's better than Seaman. Dave was a very good 'keeper but Allison ahead of him, for my money.
Top 3 would be Schmeichel, Cech then tough one between Allison and VDS
Agreed with this

Really like this from the replies;

“Klopp must be the worst manager in PL history if he could only win it once with 6 of the best to have ever played in the competition for most of his tenure”

I'd say it is. And i'm Evra's biggest fan, Irwin was fantastic - and he'd certainly get the nod over Evra. But Ashley Cole at his peak was something else. He's the only player i've ever seen that shut down peak Ronaldo and his average level was just really really high, with his peak being outstanding. There's nothing Evra could do better than Cole.

Don't see how Gerrard makes his way into a PL all time XI. Possibly as a bench warmer but even then there would be midfielders from United, City, Chelsea, even Arsenal who would be above him on merit.

Has had some mad scoring seasons but it’s the lack of success which would make it hard for me to include him. If I’m going to include a forward who only won 1 PL, it’s Shearer because 260 goals is incredible. Harry Kane would miss out for similar reasons. He’d be a shoe in if he’d been at a top club

Ronaldo and Rooney have to be in there. Would be ridiculous not to include either
