Cant stand ITK nonsense. Has one ever been correct? An actual poster who was proven correct?
They're attention seeking balloons who need to find a new hobby and the doxing is the exact reason why they shouldn't do it.

The Reddit Tier Challenge seemed really quite fair to me. The ITKs gave their specific sources and information to the mods. If they were found untrue to whatever extent then the user, his/her actual account would be banned. On a place where karma and likes rule supreme, that's a fair price to pay. So it wasn't quite unfettered rumors and lies being tossed around.

Problem was, transfers change. One day the ITKs seemed to be correct. Next day there were some conflicting reports. In the end, bassed on De Ligt, nothing is set and the ITK info may well have been correct. And before any of that came to pass, you have people lose it. That's not fair. And it's not on the original posters in my mind.

Perhaps one lesson there is nobody is ITK therefore just leave it alone.

Problem is too many people want the glory. Similarly too many people present transfers as 100% done (including journos of course) then later say things can change at the last minute.

If something can change it’s not 100% done.

I think you tend to have genuine ITK's for smaller clubs where the information isn't as sensitive. That then gave some people the spark of imagination to pretend to be ITK's at big clubs like Utd.

There's no way someone on the transfer committee at Utd would risk their jobs just to spread some info to a Reddit forum, and you'd imagine they're the only ones that really know what's going on.

Of course, once the deal is actually done, then leaks start coming out, but it's pointless by then.

Most of our players threw the club under the bus by being utter shite for over half a decade now, nothing but a bunch of mercenaries the lot of them.

So, fair to say United's offer is probably far superior and De Ligt himself may want it.

True. But if someone has a mate at OT feeding them information, it obviously won't be Nicky Butt. The only semi-plausible scenario is that the guy is someone who isn't supposed to have this information but who has nevertheless picked it up, either randomly or by going to some length in order to eavesdrop, etc.

Of course, that such a person would get constant updates and pass them on to a mate who then goes on to share the info on Reddit is, well, not easily believable.

Some years ago an acquaintance of mine worked for United in a capacity that had nothing to do with the football, as such. I'd talk to him from time to time, but he hardly ever knew anything worth bothering with. He did say, though, that he sometimes learned things that'd fall into the "ITK" category, pertaining to players coming and going. There are lots of people working for United - or for one of the club's big sponsors - so I wouldn't call the ITK thing pure fantasy, that'd be naive.

Someone passing on a single morsel is very different from an Internet randomer getting a steady supply of genuine inside information, though.

Genuinely why do people take this view? He’s pretty much said we’ve signed all our targets. How does one actually being true give him any credibility.

I genuinely enjoyed the Vidal thread, I remember someone writing a whole story about Ed dressed in leathers storming into the Juve offices on a motorbike and shooting them up while throwing around cash till he got Vidal, made me laugh out loud.

Muppets will always be muppets, it's fun and it passes the summer when there's no football and if some people like to WUM and pretend to be ITK, fine, people should take everything they read on reddit and the caf with a huge pinch of salt, but noone deserves to be doxxed for it.

Maybe there's nothing in the media about us signing Wan Bissaka, because we're not signgin him and this Reddit guy has led people a merry dance as he knows feck all?

It's been clear from the beginning that De Ligt is going to Barca, Raiola wanted more wages for his client than previously agreed, Barca said no so Raiola started using the media to fabricate stories to worry Barca. That didn't happen, instead Barca used their media puppet to tell everyone De Ligt is off to United as they won't budge on the wages previously agreed, it's all posturing. Barca will still get De Ligt, they'll likely sell some deadwood and offer more money a week and more incentives.

These Reddit 'ITK' people are full of shit, they know nothing and are looking for attention, which they are getting in abundance as people lap up their lies.

Redcafe has always been my place of choice to read the opinions of United fans but the reddevils reddit was a fairly decent alternative with some good posters and funny memes. Now it's toxic as hell. So many arguments about whether the ITKs are either annoying bullshitters or useful sources, some people want all of them banned for wrecking the forum, some people want them to be able to free to post all their 'info' and can't believe anyone doubts them. And that's ignoring all the doxing drama which is another big mess.

They are even fighting amongst themselves. xisimon is the one guy on that forum who has ever proven himself to have any sort of ITK knowledge and he's spent the last several days calling out the other ITKs for getting things wrong. He's straight up accused RightSaidFred_MUFC of being 'fake news' and 'spreading lies' over his claims that De Ligt is a done deal.

Spoofex is the person most responsible for this mess. He has endorsed, encouraged and taken part in the ITK nonsense and turned the reddit into something completely different than what it used to be all for the purpose of trying to earn internet points. It's been a textbook example of how not to run an internet forum and makes me appreciate the great work the mods and admins do at redcafe in comparison.

The thing is these ITKs spawned out of an ever increasing thirst for information. Everything needs to happen yesterday. There's no more patience these days. I think this is part of the reason why journalism has gone down the toilet. They don't have time to properly check the info they get for reliability because if they don't post it right away someone else will. And if you then post something that turns out to be false you get a huge amount of shite for it. It's ridiculous. I'm all for muppet season but people are taking it way too seriously and are way too invested in it

There is also a herd mentality there. People tend to down-vote opinions which don't align with the general consensus, even when said opinions are presented in a balanced way. Redcafe at least can have very differing opinions, but its never filtered like that and I'm very glad this is the case. I don't like the "like/dislike" systems at all (I understand its need for the newbie system).

That sub went to crap long ago. I used to be active on it but once it started to grow the drama became a daily thing for people on there and with the voting system in place things can get toxic very quickly. This forum is miles better when it comes to serious discussions and kneejerking.
