Kind of does? This is a Utd fan forun after all. Theres adding discussion and theres ranting and raving about Utd when we had feck all to do with last night. I would have had the warnings out a while ago with the display from that fanbase today. Totally uncalled for.
This isnt a general football fan forum. Respect goes a long way

It’s official we’re back. Living rent free in Klopps head.

If Liverpool who are expected to win the league are mentioning us and penalties after losing to Southampton we’re now a serious and viable threat (a year ahead of schedule for me)

Love it!

Could you quote me one post of mine were I am "ranting and raving about Utd" then? I immediately said in one of my first posts in this thread that his comments about Utd were uncalled for and that we should be focused on winning our own games, literally that.

Respect not only goes a long way by the way, it also goes both ways. If a poster says that our entire fanbase condoned racism in near unison, yes then I'm gonna react strongly to that because that is not what I stand for at all.

I can tell you 99 percent of your posts about Utd pens have come after a loss last night.. Thats not against us.
We played Friday night ffs. Spending all day today posting about it is hysterical in itself.
Im not being funny but your fanbase is famous for backing up Suarez. You cant really recon that with indignation.
Look at how the manager rang his penalty bell and you all came running. The exact same thing happened with t shirt gate

I'm just taking part in the discussion and playing devil's advocate here and there. If you think this thread would be better if every post just agreed that "the rest of the league is rattled, they're scared and Klopp is a cnut" then that's fine by me.

"You all came running" Two or three Liverpool fans posting in here, and I didn't even defend Klopp once. His comment was uncalled for.

Well, it's your own fans on your biggest forum behaving mental and conspiracy theory mad about it, so nobody is making it up. Every football club has nutters but the degree can vary owing to many factors. Our fans didn't in near unison defend Suarez' racist actions after all, these things start from the top and trickle down, and become a reality.

Nobody asked you what you prefer. I would prefer SAF dominating English football for 20 plus years even if he took a dump in front of the Kop everytime his team played there, but that wouldn't made it right.
Nope, they only used to sing songs about Wenger being a paedophile.

It is pretty funny that United fans and Liverpool fans hate each other so much but they don't realise just how similar they, and their clubs, are. Why cant we all just get along?

Glad to see Ole saying how it may be an attempt to influence referees and bringing up the point how it may have worked for Lampard in the final.

Refs are human and these comments can have an effect - look at the yellow cards James has got which were no where near dives or the non-calls. Once a particular idea takes hold, it can have an effect even on the supposed best refs.

I’m convinced Klopp said what he said last night with one eye on the United game and to make sure the media buy in to this so called opinion in the build up. Referees are human and no doubt they must see and hear these things.

The only good thing to counter all Klopp’s nonsenses is VAR. I liked Ole’s response today mocking “facts” and referencing Chelsea in the FA Cup last season. A little bit of Fergie work there!

Agree with Ole. This is 100% an attempt to pressure referees into not giving us penalties. Absolutely ridiculous.

I think even if it's tactical from Klopp it can easily backfire depending on who the ref is . There is a type of ref imo ( Clattenburg category) who when they hear this stuff will convince themselves that they can't be shown to be affected by such comments and so will probably be eager to give a penalty

Wow. That is literally impossible. That is almost double of West Ham penalties, yet both clubs have spent almost an equal amount of time hovering around the mid table, certainly not winning the league or playing attacking football. Andy Carrol would get a lot of penalties playing for Liverpool but not the same penalties when playing for West Ham. This is literal proof of that. It's impossible. About 85 of those penalties they probably shouldn't have had. I'd say Torres, Gerrard, Salah, Mane, Kuyt and Babel are the biggest offenders of that lot. Needs closer examining by some sort of stat fanatic / football aficionado / former CIA whistleblower to unravel this mess.

When Lampard started complaining about our penalties before the FA cup SF and it seemed to work on the refs. If I remember correctly, they smashed our players around the park that day without the ref doing anything and also a good penalty call not even being reviewed. I can certainly see Klopp complaints doing something similar. Unfortunately, that's the state of refs in PL and the media always turns a blind eye to this sort of influence on the refs.

I think you need to take a step back and add some context here. Even though I think this whole penalties conspiracy theories is a crock of shit, comparing Liverpool’s number of penalties to West Ham’s over the last 20 years or so is a bit strange. Even if they have been in the league the same amount of time, that doesn’t mean anything. I would naturally expect the bigger teams to have more penalties than the lesser teams simply because they will statistically attack more, have more touches in the opponents area and therefore invite more fouls. I highly doubt West Ham’s attacking statistics are anywhere near Liverpools in that period.

Crock of shit? Obviously a bit strange? Without the bias, whats left isn't anything but a conspiracy it's reality. They haven't won the Premier League more than one time. One time! Just recently. They have attacked a bit more than West Ham maybe, and in that context, as I pointed out what about Babel? The guy mysteriously disappeared after getting a lot of penalties, I even remember Scousers proclaiming his talent to be bigger than Ronaldo's at one point. So why the sudden change, why leave so abruptly if something wasn't going on at that time?

Sure, they have probably attacked more than West Ham overall, but why haven't West Ham more penalties then when Andy Carrol also played for Liverpool who has a lot of penalties. Andy Carrol was Liverpool's biggest signing at the time, yet when West Ham bought him they got him for half the price, and what do you know, they also got half the penalties. Coincidence? No.

Also, They have had some legendary players that has not been getting the credit they deserve for diving their way into first place of the PL penalty league throughout the years, like Gerrard. He is probably responsible for cheating 60% of the 86 undeserved penalties and gotten away with it because of his standing in the England national team ahead of class acts like Scholes and Lampard. Now, would you be willing to hazard a guess as to why he was picked ahead of superior midfielders on countless occasions for the national team? One word, non penalties don't win world cups.

Klopp is thoroughly rattled and worried about the United game. Honestly I thought he is classier than Benitez but then maybe some of the scouse air has got inside of him. Mourinho was always an arsonist. But expected better from Klopp.

You bought into the bullshit narrative pedalled by the media. Klopp was always liable to a it of shithousery, whining when things don't go his way, and throwing wobblers. Just because the BBC told you he was classy doesn't mean he was.

Exactly. Klopp although looks like more friendly and approachable guy than say Jose and Guardiola, but he is as much a sore loser, or even more.

In regards to penalties in Premier League history, seeing as we can all pluck a random period out of thin air to make an argument - the less successful and less attacking Liverpool (over the whole period) have 152 pens to our 148.

Between 13/14 and 16/17 they had 30 pens to our 17.

I'm outraged.

Ferguson used to comment on that kind of thing too.

It's a mind games thing. Klopp knows full well we're playing you next in the league.

I don't understand why people get surprised by that. Managers will always have digs at their rivals and fans will always be the same. We think we are different, but we are not. Last year people were complaining about Liverpool and VAR, this year its United. Because it looks like that United are a contender again. No one talks about Leicaster, because they are not triggering for their rivals the way United is.
In Italy is the same with Juve.

If a team gets a sudden uptick in penalties awarded after the introduction of VAR then that suggests to me that VAR has corrected a problem.

The idea that you can red card a player who won the ball and caught the player by accident is by far the most stupid thing I’ve heard in years. Yet apparently this is what the pundits are calling for tonight
