Ronaldo's ego
Incorrectly predicted the 2020 US Election
Should be someone from the Caf, let’s get a poll in. A lot of experts on here
Ed has no influence on the structure of Mourinho's staff. There must be some direction from the Board and presumably he’d have to run it past Ed who he intends to appoint and / or what the structure looks like.
If the McKenna rumours are true, there must be pressure from the Board to improve the attacking play.
Obviously guessing but it’s a key appointment and there must be a proper search/selection process.
Why wouldn’t he? Genuine question as I would have thought he would, I mean he appoints the manager so presumably he (or wider board) can influence/approve who he brings in?Ed has no influence on the structure of Mourinho's staff.
There's not a chance Ed would even try to push MckeMcK on Mourinho .
No. Ed would aid in giving the manager the best environment to work in. This would include allowing his preferred support staff and buying the required targets amongst other things. Why wouldn’t he? Genuine question as I would have thought he would, I mean he appoints the manager so presumably he (or wider board) can influence/approve who he brings in?
It's our policy that the manager is king in all matters to do with football. Why wouldn’t he? Genuine question as I would have thought he would, I mean he appoints the manager so presumably he (or wider board) can influence/approve who he brings in?
Because I wouldn't expect Ed to have the foggiest idea who the best assistant manager to bring in would be. That's not a slight on Ed, that's just neither his role nor anything approaching his area of expertise. Why wouldn’t he? Genuine question as I would have thought he would, I mean he appoints the manager so presumably he (or wider board) can influence/approve who he brings in?
Try to read between the line...Jose said nobody in world football is ready to be his assistant manager. Really? I'm a fan Jose but let your ego have a day off.
Swap?Weird we've both seemingly lost our assistants this season.
It'll be on his Patreon I think. That's fairly common on it. People will have a YouTube channel or similar that everyone sees then they'll have monthly subscribers who they give special content to. Nothing wrong with that.Does your man Howson make people pay to listen to his podcasts? If so what a knobber!
Yeah, I completely agree with you on the last part. Hopefully we will see some expansive football next season, if McKenna is indeed taking over. And if we do play good football next season, it'll be clear who that's down to. When the time comes, I wouldn't be against him becoming manager. All day dreaming at the minute, obviously. Nothing is even confirmed yet haha but you can't help but be excited if he can bring some of football that the under 18's played last season!
Funny how the pessimists seem to have missed the subsequent comments. Not sure there is a reason to be disappointed - it's a re-structure and he said that he will, indeed, bring in someone new. There just won't be an OFFICIAL ass man.
They choose to ignore it deliberately because it smashing their head knowing Jose doing something in their favour.Funny how the pessimists seem to have missed the subsequent comments.

Stranger things have happened.Swap?
Coaching staff does lot more than just tell Jose how to attack.Seriously, if anyone thinks Jose is going to take instructions on hw to attack from a rookie manager like Kieran, you're having a laugh.
Managers stick to what they know. Kieran, or Carrick, or whoever, is going to be there for support. Not to reinvent Jose's wheel.
I'd disagree with that. A managers main job is motivational. Tactics are a team effort alongside the coaches.Seriously, if anyone thinks Jose is going to take instructions on hw to attack from a rookie manager like Kieran, you're having a laugh.

Especially since Jose is the Stubborn One.Seriously, if anyone thinks Jose is going to take instructions on hw to attack from a rookie manager like Kieran, you're having a laugh.

Did Ed try and push Giggs onto Jose? I don't think so.Why wouldn’t he? Genuine question as I would have thought he would, I mean he appoints the manager so presumably he (or wider board) can influence/approve who he brings in?
So, if this is true, he is going to modernise the backroom staffing structure. So Jose is bringing new staff and instead of having assistant manager, he will have bunch of coaches with designated tasks. He also said he will improve performance level of his staff on fitness and tactical level (assuming by bringing in new staff). Looks very interesting and big changes ahead in backroom staff.
Can't say I am in the pro Mourinho camp, but this all sounds positive to me.So, if this is true, he is going to modernise the backroom staffing structure.
And if this is true, it looks like he is preparing for a long stay....not just a 3rd and final season hurrah, which is what many believe.
Have you ever seen Rui and the Brain in the same room at the same time??Weird we've both seemingly lost our assistants this season.

Biggest job in Portugal, he'd be mad not to take it if he was offered. So did he leave for the Benfica job? I guess Jose would never push him out and they also didnt have a bust up? I assume he wants to try the managers job and not be an assistant all the time
