Does anyone think the club will learn anything from this Sanchez disaster, if so what? We are still hearing ridiculous amounts, fees and salaries, being quoted for certain players , one who is little more than a kid. OK, most of it is the media speculating, but it makes you wonder have we finally learned any lessons and/or will the after effects of the Covid-19 pandemic put paid to the money-mad transfers we've seen previously in play?
How is it the same case as Sanchez disaster? Sanchez issue is that the guy is already past his best and it's very unlikely he'll recover his best again, and because of that, the club is looking for to sell him. Sanchez knows that in his current situation, he's not in a hurry to cut his wages to move somewhere, 31/32 years old is waiting for his retirement and enjoying the money.
The kid you are referring to can be viewed as part of investment, if the player failed to perform, they can always get some of their money back like what they did on Memphis, Zaha & Lukaku. And Lukaku is actually a good example why young player who believe he's good enough willing to cut his wages to move somewhere for guarantee be a key player in a new club. If players couldn't be sold then we can always give them chances and there is hope for young player to change things around.
Sanchez's case should be compared to Bale & Cavani. Luckily, we learnt from Sanchez's case and have no interest to sign them. Although probably, Sanchez case is even deeper than Bale & Cavani since we are giving Sanchez a long contract and I don't think we'll give Bale & Cavani a long contract if we're going to take a risk on old players again.
