Didn't hear our own fans today very much.... although I suspect a BBC conspiracy of not putting any microphones at our end. Probably all instigated by that cnut Alan Green. Bet he wanked himself silly over the result today.

I doubt it. If so I hope it would have been just a moronic few.

Just browsed through a few Pool Forums. To be fair the majority of posters I've seen have sympathy for Smith & wish him a speedy recovery. There are of course some morons who think otherwise. Some of the worst comments have been condemed by others on the sites.
The general concensus is that the Kop, were singing the Riise song, not realizing the extent of the injury.

I must say myself, from watching on TV, Smith got a generous applause whilst being stretchered off.

No. :(

Anyone guilty of that should be banned from going.

That occurred at the end of the match.

While Smith was down, some DID sing the JAR song yes, but clearly they could've had no idea of the extent of the injury.

When it had emerged how serious it was, and he was being stretchered off, he got a standing ovation from both sets of fans.

You're right, singing about Heysel and Michael Shields is a far better thing to do...

to be fair, your lot were giving it a lot of munich stuff, and it wasn't just a select few either...

don't pigeon hole our lot as the main instigators...

I heard the Munich stuff outside the ground, fecks me right off.

I dont understand why people need to resort to that kind of stuff, it's plainly cretinous.

To the tune of 'Hey Baby':

John....Arne Riise, oooh ah
I wanna know.....how you scored that goal / broke his leg.

Better in the original format, the latter version wasnt necessary.
so they did sing it then?

i'd say that bang out of order, but we did the same when Keano broke Haaland in two...so we're in no position to talk...

again, get over it I say...

Tossers.

Don't use the excuse that they didn't realise the full extent of the injury - it was obvious from the moment he went down that it was bad.

You're probably right - but I think we did it mainly because of the history between Haaland and Keane. Not that it justifies it mind.

Unfortunately, yes it did happen...but clearly no one could've known how serious the injury was at that time, and when he was stretchered off, practically all 4 stands were on their feet aplauding him.

Hope, first and foremost, his career isnt over and there's no permanent damage. After that, obviously the speediest of recoveries.

Those same 'tossers' gave him a standing ovation as he was carried off.

Are they more 'tossers' than your fans who gloated and laughed at Keane's maiming of Haaland?

Or more so than your fans who sang about Michael Shields, Heysel and the like?

DJS shut it u soft cnut,

I will re phrase my last statement. I find it annoying that a person who is so biased towards Liverpool gets to commentate on an FA Cup match between two of Englands biggest teams.

To be honest, I did'nt hear that while he was being carried off, I heard it as the match was ending, which is fair enough. I did hear the Riise song (assumed it was their usual version), just after the injury. I think most did not realize the extent of the injury........In saying that, there's alway's the scum element who's limits know no bounds !

Or something. You get the gist. ;)
Not really, no.

I've always maintained that jokes etc. about tragedies or incidents like today's are out of order. Should I not bother then? Saying "he without sin" etc. implies that such crap should actually be ignored.
