Manchester United has released the following club statement...
“In light of events in Ukraine, we have withdrawn Aeroflot’s sponsorship rights.

“We share the concerns of our fans around the world and extend our sympathies to those affected.”

Bye bye
It's the right decision, and it's made fairly fast, but that statement still strikes me as the bare minimum.

Right thing to do, 100%

Hopefully Gazprom are removed as one of the Champions League title sponsors too so clubs involved in the competition don't have to be affialated with them.

We'd have sent them Marcos Rojo with a big machine gun and a bandana but he was moved on last summer. :(

It's all they really need to do. It's a football club and also football is how people get away from what goes on in the world, they shouldn't inject themselves into any political affairs by making a big statement.

Change of thread title?

There has been a lot of scrutiny and media coverage of this and we’ve terminated the deal inside 24 hours. You’d be tempted to think we were owned and bankrolled by a Russian oligarch or something…

Aeroflot dropped before Maguire, would never have predicted that at the beginning of the season.

Now that our deal with Aeroflot is in the past, the question is which airline will replace it as our sponsor. I often believe that United should have signed with All Nippon Airways (ANA) when Usain Bolt was their spokesperson. When one knows that ANA keeps on staying very high among top airlines in the world year after year, it should be a perfect opportunity.

Russian clubs should be refused entry into any UEFA competition, Russia as a country should be banned from all international competitions and certainly Gazprom should be removed as sponsors of the Champions League.

EDIT - Russia as a country already doing quite well getting themselves banned from Olympic competition........

Aerialflop scored from a header from a corner, don’t your remember? He’s basically a nailed on starter for the next three seasons just for that.

Good news. Now let’s hope the Government will get rid of Ambramovich who is allegedly a buddy of Putin.

No team in particular.

Why russian athletes should be banned? They aren't the ones invading Ukraine.

Were american and british athletes banned from international competitions when United States and UK were bombing the Middle East for oil?
