the same players have downed tools under every other manager. doesn’t mean that ten hag isn’t over working them, but they’re spineless pieces of shit who have no business playing for united.
It's not the same group of players.

Doesn't read like a player leak as if anything, the leak discredits them

We have seen two seasons now with players heading into the season looking well off the pace. That, coupled with the constant muscle injuries would suggest a coach who is failing on the physical fitness issues as much as he is failing on the tactical side, player recruitment side and man management side.

In other words…how on earth is he still here?
Because half of those issues you list is due to club itself, and not him.

You just can’t be sure about that. I have a suspicion that there are serious issues with his fitness and physical prep team. Two seasons we looked absolutely terrible at the start of the season and the injuries come soon after.

Even if just half of them are club issues, it is still way more than enough to tell us that he isn’t the man for the job. Far, far too many questions and no clear answers.

I think this is quite worrying and suggests we could be in leak/player discontent phase.

Be interesting to see if any of the players come out and speak against this tomorrow.

Maybe they are exhausted?
They were quite a lazy team previously, and by that we know we were useless at pressing but there’s been plenty of time so they have no excuses. They’ve done this before, remember the whole ETH made them run the distance they were outrun by story, either we have some huge issues in our medical department or just lazy players. There’s no way it’s only now accumulated after 18 months of ETH.

I thought we were underprepared after preseason not overcooked? Seems a daft time to be tired given the fairly easy schedule since Xmas.

To be fair that preseason was trash but I'm not sure it was Erik's fault. All those shitty American friendlies thousands of miles apart need to get knocked on the head. They ought to do 2 or 3 at most with a few days rest and training between and then come back and do a proper preseason in Europe somewhere for a few weeks.

Jamie jackson literally wrote a book about ten hag's rebuild so it doesnt feel like its coming from the players.

Interesting... I lept to conclusions with this lot

If it comes from EtH/his team then it's a bit of a hail mary, can't see that working out for them either

i mean how many of the injuries are from players who would be classified as injury prone? Shaw for sure, varane definitely, martial obviously ha. I mean going down the line prob be easier to go with those who are surprised are injured.

These players don’t deserve anything. If we could somehow find an eighth day of the week for them to do some extra training on the basics of football then that’s what they should be getting.

Half of the leaks over the years have painted the players in a bad light but a lot of these idiots seem to think than the fanbase will side with them over the manager

Why is such info leaked to tabloids? Time to get rid of whoever is responsible for all this leaking.

Some of them do. See this thread, for example. Which is pretty funny.

The amount of sprints the players are being asked to do is probably far more damaging than for other teams due to the midfield set up. Just the amount of sprints we have to do to defend from our own attacking corners is ridiculous
Another very serious issue alongside horrendous rest defence in possession - it’s not only basketball, it’s constant high octane, desperate scrambles to cover acres of space. Infuriating.
Nonsense. There's not many teams who collectively put in as little effort as ours to recover and get behind the ball when we lose it/ our opponent advances in possession. It may well have been our biggest issue over the last half decade.

Is that your opinion or is that backed up with facts? The reason it looks we struggle to get behind the ball currently is because of the giant fecking holes in midfield, not because they aren’t trying. How often do you see top teams conceding shots within 10 seconds of their own corner? I’d be willing to bet it happens to us every single game and it’s nothing to do with not trying.

Anyway, I’m not claiming that it’s the main cause of us playing badly, but if you add in the lack of rotation, all the extra football we played last year, it’s completely logical why we’re getting all these injuries.

he never rotates, the schedule was brutal last year and the team is playing like crap. doesn't really shock me that players are mentally/physically exhausted. this team isn't built to handle multiple competition, the squad can barely handle the league alone right now.

Its like people in here don’t understand that there is a massive back room staff, some of them with the specific job of watching player fitness, fatigue and tracking effort and miles run and so on to prevent things like burnout.

Taylor made training regimes, masseuse‘s, sun beds, (vitamin D units or whatever crap they call them) sleep pods, tranquility rooms, ice chambers and probably a host of other things.

Honestly sound like a bunch of weak minded lazy sobs, do Wonder who it could be, there haven’t been many that have played that consistently. The only people who could and maybe deserve a day off would be Rasmus, Mainoo and Garnacho. The rest… bunch of chancers.

What begins? This sounds like a nothing story.
"What begins" isnt right, its whats continuing really, and thats the same toxic, couldnt care less, selfish, anti manager attitude thats been at the club for years. Ive read several reports regarding this incident and all mention "senior players" as being the ones who wanted a day off, and thats going to include the likes of Rashford, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof all of whome have played under several managers at United, along with others of course. These players have seen off Louis Van Gaal, Mourinho, Ole Gunnar, Rangnick and Ten Haag will be next. Were all these managers to blame for the attitude and toxicity? No, the common denominator is the group of players who, following the lead of Pogba and Lingard, came to believe that they were "special" that they were bigger than the Club and answerable to nobody, including the manager and supporters. With the exit of Pogba and Lingard it did seem that the biggest trouble makers had gone, but no, the problems remained and will remain until we get rid of those players who still believe they are somehow better than the rest or more entitled or who have been warped and influenced by others; Rashford, Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, Martial, Sancho, Wan Bissaka should all be sold asap and if we make a loss on their transfer fees so be it, it will be worth it in the long run just to get rid of them. Martial it seems will be leaving at the end of this season, goodbye to bad rubbish, and Sancho is on loan to Dortmund, but judging by his poor performances there they wont be rushing to sign him permanently. With gangrene you have cut it out before it effects the rest of the body! And while we're culling these dead heads the likes of Varane, Casemiro and Eriksen who are all past their best should also be moved on. Bruno might sulk and moan but at least he seems to care and McTominay, though not good enough to start has become a valuable asset from the bench.

Rashford and Shaw played under LVG while Maguire, Lindelof, Dalot and others have all played under Mourinho, Ole, Rangnick and now Ten Haag. These players and others have seen off 4 managers already with their poor, selfish attitudes and Ten Haag will be next. Each of these managers at one time or other have mentined the bad attitude present at United, were they all wrong? No.

I’ve heard former players, Gary Neville and Roy Keane at the very least spoke of how training under SAF was incredibly intense especially in training matches. So much so that actual match games were easier for them to deal with. Our players now instead are tired and burned out for games because they’ve been overtrained? Load of BS. Also, why does only certain players like Rashford exhibit such “tiredness” but Garnacho and Hojlund seem fine? Granted Hojlund only joined this season but Garnacho has been in the first team squad since last season.

Even if this specific article has been embellished/is an outright lie, the squad needs purging. Most of them have demonstrated long enough that they aren't cut out for this club.
Exactly. Enough time has passed. A new era is here. We have a competent CEO and potentially a new Sporting Director in Ashworth. Double down and ensure we have the best decision makers next to Ten Hag. A proper rebuild is needed. No doubt about it.

They had their day off against Fulham
 outstanding!

The majority of the lazy fecks barely get out of a jog on matchday. The only ones I'd possibly have a bit of sympathy with are Mainoo, Garnacho, Bruno and Rasmus who do at least seem to work hard

I actually shouted at the TV during a recent game, as Rashy lost the ball then fecking walked after the player. If he's one of the ones "exhausted"....

MBE, and all-round good egg, Marcus rashford should take responsibility. It's his fault. As always.
All around good egg? That's funny. But he has an MBE. He MUST be a "good egg".

No one on the honours list could possibly be an unpleasant person....

I completely believe this story. It's been pretty obvious that several of these players are very lazy and think they're a lot better than they are. Lingard and DDG all struggled to find clubs after leaving because no-one outside of United is stupid enough to pay brilliant wages to average players. It's why Rashford is still here despite looking pretty miserable.

It's not the same group of players.
Thank you! It annoys me when people act like the squad hasn't changed in the last 6 years. There's a general culture of laziness though that has been consistent.

Playing for United is becoming a chore for many on the team.
Watching them play for United is a chore for many fans of the team.

According to Mitten on TOTD he asked a lot of different people and couldn’t find any truth in this. If that means anything to anyone.

They’ve barely showed up this season, what’s with the talks about a day off.
Well said! Yes matches come thick and fast at this time of the season but they only have Prem matches and FA Cup matches to contend with, and I imagine Liverpool will ensure the poor dears dont have to play any more Cup matches!
