It's not Kane's fault he's had absolutely no support or service. Scoring early was the worst thing that could've happened. Italy looked frightened in the first 10 minutes. He's sat off, allowed Italy to have as much territory and possession as they like, and gave us absolutely zero attacking options. What does he do when Italy score? He brings on a defensive midfielder and a player with 6 club goals in his entire career. It's cowardly.
His entire gameplan went out of the window when Shaw scored so early

He's gutless. He has Sancho, Grealish, Saka and Rashford on the bench because he wants to play five defenders and two defensive midfielders. His team had all the momentum for the first 20 minutes and then he squandered it by parking the bus. Regardless of the result, he and his team are bad representatives of the game. Only one team playing like Italy today, and it's not the one in blue.

Southgate puts faith in some bizarre players, doesn’t he? I get persevering with top drawer players who are just going through a rough patch but he continually goes all-in on decent-but-not-extraordinary players like Mount, Saka etc.
