Anyway, is that Ince's voice? I wonder if the audio was taken from few different shows, edited and put under video of him.
It is very strange that after a shot of him watching tv, they did not put shot filmed behind him, Jose watching tv, so you see tv screen in the background and pundits talking what we hear. Not one single shot of pundits on tv talking. So either it is staged or they are not very good at what they do for a living.
 
At one point Levy said there are only 2 top managers in the world, one is Mourinho and the other is at another Premier league club. Wonder if he's having a dig at Klopp or Pep.
 
I love how they completely skipped the United game when we beat them 2-1. Just mentioned it in passing.

Klopp wasn't PL champion at that time, so he was referring to Pep.
 
Enjoyed the first episode although it's more about Mourinho than Spurs in my opinion. It's interesting to actually see them train and to see the one to one meetings, however staged they are.
I get the sense Levy & Mou are using it as a way to paint themselves in a more positive light then they are seen and it'll be interesting to see if it keeps me entertained for the whole thing. The issue I think with the entertainment factor is kind of the same in the issue with their squad where Mou is telling them they're too nice - there don't seem to be any big characters in the dressing room, the best players like Kane or Son who I think will get a lot of screen time are not great off the pitch for entertainment value so it's basically going to rest on Mourinho trying to 'unlock' Alli because how exciting can them getting 6th actually be from a narrative perspective.

I’ve watched one and half episodes so far and have really enjoyed it to be honest. I wasn’t expecting to. It’s just fascinating seeing the inner workings of a football club. Especially with Jose involved as we get a feeling of how he would have been in our dressing room.

I really enjoyed watching the city documentary too. If you have a general interest in football then it is a good watch.

There’s most definitely an element of acting involved. There’s absolutely no way anyone would be them natural self when they know cameras are recording constantly. There won’t be a moment where they forget that cameras aren’t recording.

It’s like when people go on Big Brother. They are always wary of the cameras rolling.
 
Found the City one interesting so will start watching this later

Anyone know how many episodes its supposed to be? Watched the first three and quite enjoyed Jose's antics more than anything.

I guess they should stop noticing the cameras after a while but yes, it will never be 100% natural. The City one I found too much of a homage to Pep/branding exercise - I'm hoping this balances a bit more with the personality of Mou, the business side behind the scenes with Levy and then, most importantly, more player access and not just the staged meetings.

I’m watching it mainly for Jose’s antics & so far he’s not disappointed.
 
I liked Mourinho when he was a winner because you can accept a lot from a winner and he was cool and charismatic despite being an ass. He’s not a winner anymore I think he’s become a bit of a pathetic figure and I’m looking forward to his next failure.
 
Only seen the first episode. That moment with José switching off the tele is comedy gold.
 
Seeing Eric Dier have a conversation with him in Portugese was odd, diodnt realise he grew up there

I’ve watched all 3 episodes today. It’s been a decent watch. But it’s been a “Jose documentary” rather than a Spurs one.

If it wasn’t for Jose, the documentary would be pretty shite. Spurs are as dull as they come and all the players have less personality than an empty packet of Quavers.

The only interesting parts is seeing Jose expressing emotions and being savage. As a manager I’ve always respected what he did. Going forward he will never be as good as he was. He’s too stubborn to adapt his style to modern football.

I still do, too. Still believe there’s no better character in world football than ‘twinkle-in-the-eye’ Mourinho. He’s an absolute treasure when in that form.

His dour alter ego (which rears its head much too often these days) I have much less time for, however.

I like him a lot more now that he's away from my club. It's a strange dichotomy in that I want Mourinho to succeed but I wish nothing but misery on Spurs.
 
Watching Mourinho's first training session at Spurs, it's very obvious to me, wherever he's been, why his players fall so in love with him. You combine that training ground charm with actual success on the pitch, it's easy to see why some players form a lifetime bond with him.
 
Just finished the first episode. Jose is blockbuster.

Interesting how Sir Alex wanted him to sign Dele Alli when he was at United. Also how he thought Spurs have a better squad than us.

Based on the team he got sacked from, he’s possibly right. We had Fellani, Young, Valencia, Mata, Smalling who were all first XI type at the time.

There may be alter motives behind his comments by making Kane believe he is better to stay at spurs. (In case he was tempted by a potential move away to Utd)

I agree. After watching the first few episodes you can see why they have never won or will never win anything. No personality, no real leader. Kane’s pre match team talks are terrible. And what can you say about Dele Alli, clearly doesn’t put the work in. It’s great to see how José works and even though he was a disaster for United I can’t help but like him.

Being released in staggered sets of three:
  • Monday 31st August – Episodes one to three
  • Monday 7th September – Episodes four to six
  • Monday 14th September – Episodes seven to nine
I enjoyed the first three episodes. Always interesting to see the inner workings of a Football Club (liked the Sunderland and City series when I eventually convinced myself to sit through Pep). Levy comes across better than his reputation (which isn't hard to be fair) I thought. Seeing what happens when Covid hits will be intruiging.
 
Was very surprised to hear that in 2.5 years Sir Alex only gave him 1 piece of advice and it was “buy Delle Alli”.

My gosh, that really struck me. His pre-match talks were so cringe. Terribly underwhelming and uninspiring. He actually looked like he was shitting himself when talking. Certainly didn’t come across as a leader.

Also, when Jose was talking indirectly about Aurier a number of times.....Aurier couldn’t have been any more “give a shit” attitude than he was. Literally like talking to a Chinese man in English with a Newcastle accent.
 
Says the current Spurs manager in order to big up a player in his current squad.

Managers do tell the truth.

Doesn’t have the same impact “Sir Alex gave me loads of advice, game me a list of 20 players I should buy, one of the happened to be a player I’m now managing”.
