second half...fingers crossed. Please give us another against the run of play goal!!

It is rather annoying that we actually saw decent paced football during the tour, but the moment the actual season starts, we are back to slow motion movement.

Oh yeah, maybe because the others teams didn't really give a shit and we did. These are the types of false dawns that are dangerous, because on no planet would we actually beat Real Madrid 3-1 or even give them a good game with these lots

We look like we've had our game speed turned down to the slowest setting.
    Such a slog.

We just don't look like we've adapted to the 352 yet. It's a formation that is built to contain and counter, yet we find ourselves trying to use it as a possession based attack, and we are absolutely horrible at it. The passes are extremely predictable due to lack of ability to manipulate defenders and our defenders still think long balls are the cool thing to do. It will just be a matter of time where Van Gaal realizes the 352 isn't to be used against the everyday team in the PL. Bust it out against the big boys when we need a point or a cheeky 3.

I know LvG want to go with three at the back but surely when the three you plan using include at least oen out injured, you have to change to go with the players' strengths

    We are basically playing.....
    ------------:nervous:-----------
    ----:wenger:------:wenger:-----:)----
    ------------------
    -----------:)------------
    --------------:annoyed:-------

We are easily in the top 3 worst midfield in PL(and maybe even Defense).

    Ha.

I like this extra as it reminds me of Pro Evo.

If Fergie signed 2 players like hazard / yaya he could have won champions league few more times !!!!

How he won the league with these players is beyond any logic !!!

Yes I agree. Although, I would argue that 60% possession does indicate that we've kept the ball better than what you suggest.

But not where it matters. You can read anything into stats. Van Gaal's teams are about passing the ball from the back to the midfield with wingbacks providing width. It breaks down if defenders can't hold and pass and the midfield is lightweight. It will change though. You can see what LVG is trying to do.

Why do not one of our players ie young, mata, rooney, rvp, ever try to go past a player, make space or take a shot, like sunderland are doing to us, we havent had any shots on goal bar that tap in

Cleverley just seems to run around pointing and asking for the ball but then has no idea what to do when he gets it. Fletcher looks finished, LVg needs to get two CM's before the window closes.

Looks like only a matter of time until we concede and it's hard to see how we can get back in the game with this lineup.

It's alright guys, Ronaldo told Di Maria to come here so he won't change his mind. I hope...

The really worrying thing is, Sunderland are terrible. Liverpool would be 5 up by now.

Hamstring injury for Smalling. Hopefully not too bad, luckily international break coming up soon anyway.

The pace we are playing at just ISN'T Manchester United. This slow tempo was brought in by that twat from Everton and it seems to have stuck. I hate the idea of being bored bwatching United...
    Na.. Moyes introduced nothing.
We were disjointed, slow, and lacking in balance in Sir Alex' final year. With regular moments of magic from individuals, and the occasional attractive, quick-paced performance.

Moyes just made it even worse.

Norwegian commentaor just said that we've lost more games than we've won since New Years.. Surely that cannot be true? :(

I know, I got a bit desperate with that lineup

I think Mata would do a better job than Cleverley is currently doing anyway. Plus we don't have many more options coming off the bench.

In a sentence: I think we're very short of options at the moment and playing a new system is not helping our chances.
    Your username suits you
If anything, I'd put Rooney there instead of Mata. But I agree, the players we have to choose from in midfield is a bit dire right now.

So you agree that the players I mentioned playing for us today would struggle to get into the Sunderland side. Is it any wonder we are playing so poorly with so much dross on the pitch?
In a way yes and no. A settled team can outplay the best teams in the World if they are disorganized, which we are at the moment thanks to injuries. Brown and O'Shea for example aren't good enough for United, would they have started for United today ahead of Jones and Smalling? No.

Jones, Blackett, Keane, Fletcher, Cleverley, Young and Valencia. None of them start if our squad is fully fit.
Agreed. Shaw would be ahead of him but to be fair Blackett has done well in his first two games considering his age and experience. It's just that he doesn't look as good as he would do with all the sh*tness around him.

If di Maria is signed, both the latter and janazaj do not fit this system. I would rather Rooney or RVP were dropped if it meant, playing janazaj mata and di Maria in a 4231 system
Well he seems pretty intent on playing this system and he just signed rojo so he must foresee a use for him.
