He may still lose but to be causing 5th seed this many problems says a lot.

Shame for Andy. Hard to see Tsitsipas turning it around in that atmosphere and got to feel it’s 50-50 tomorrow now, especially if that hip stiffens up a bit. So glad the slip wasn’t as bad as it looked though - that would have been a horrible way to end.

Great game of tennis. That scream was pretty piercing, i was sure he had dislocated his hip or something. Murray still contending with the best tennis has to offer with the surgeries he has been through is truely astounding.

Murray turning back the years, not seen him looking this good in a long time, genuine chance for the latter stages? Not seen the draw tbh.

The most ironic thing about the 11pm curfew for the local residents is that I bet close to 100% of them have rented their houses out to players for Wimbledon fortnight anyway !

Great last hour or so, proper entertainment which it will be difficult to replicate if they return during daylight hours.

I love Andy Murray. His body is a pile of put-together metal and he’s still out there putting these pretenders to bed.

If he wins this it’s Djere then probably Norrie, with Medvedev the seeded QF (who’s never got that far at Wimbledon). All about somehow getting one more set tomorrow. It’s the best draw he could possibly have if he can do it.

Thing is, he’s clearly miles off where he was 10 years ago and yet still giving the 5th seed all sorts of problems.
This tournament is the first Slam I’ve sat and watched properly since around about 2019. The new breed are bullshitters. They’d get knocked off the court by the likes of Berdych and Del Potro if they were still about.

Only Alcaraz looks like he could have cut it ten years ago.

Wow, big chance for a Murray swansong then, love it.

Rune has beat Djokovic several times and still only young. I think he'd give it a good go back then.

Casper Ruud being where he is in the rankings is a sign of the times though.

Difficult to tell, but he is already showing a lot of mental strength by being so high on the ranking if you bare in mind his body limitations. For him to go far in the tournament he needs to win most matches playing less than 5 sets, otherwise he will accumulate a lot of fatigue

Three matches+the rest of Murray's match on center court today, starting at 13:30. A decent chance of another curfew situation.

It’s so dumb that with the backlog they don’t just start earlier on the show courts to catch up, e.g. let Murray vs Tsitsipas resume at 11 or 12 on centre.

We ended up with Djokovic in the 3rd round before a load of the draw had even completed their 1st round ties.

Apparently it's easier to stick five games to the other courts.

Any idea as to when Andy Murray’s match is due to resume? Is it after this Alcaraz vs Muller match?

I never really liked Murray that much, but it would be nice to see him beat Tsitsi. I must admit I don't like any of these younger players. half of them look like they don't even care whether they're gonna win the GS or not. just look at Shapo and Fritz who just keep stagnating. Shapo won the junior title here and was also pretty good vs Djoko in semifinal two years ago, but naturally, he keeps getting worse without any reason. no fire at all in these guys.

"Everyone in centre court wants this match to last as long as possible."

Gotta question your logic there, commentary guy.

Fascinating how a 36yr old with a metal hip can take the 5th seed to a fifth set.

Just goes to show how far ahead the previous generation were/are of the current generation.

Djokovic is 36 and still stomping his opponents.

Agree it doesn’t make sense. They’ve 2 matches after the Murray game so guaranteed to hit 11pm again.

Should have just carried on last night and stopped if it was 2-2. That way it’s max only 1 set to play today and if started at 12 they could have it done before the normal schedule at 1330.

All England Tennis Club have always been a stickler for rules though however outdated and illogical.

Never got going today.

In other news, there is an actual pro tennis player named Chris Eubanks.

Let's not pretend the previous generation didn't struggle against the generation before them. Likes of Nalbandian, Davydenko, Tsonga and Roddick used to beat them every now and then.

Pretty shocked at (well, not really) the BBC comms team. 'This is the end', from Cotter and similar from Henman. feck off.
He was mid quote and went off in a tangent and then came back to it. He was saying ‘this is the end serving into the wind’.

The image for Wimbledon on the iPlayer makes it look like Murray just took the biggest hit on a doobie and is passing it on, except the doobie is actually a tennis ball:

Who are you counting in the “previous generation” those players are at most five years older than Nadal and Murray.

But there’s nobody in the current generation that looks like they could be as dominant as Djokovic, Nadal, Federer though.

Tsitsipas will no doubt win more than one slam, Alcaraz too. But over the past 15/20 years we’ve been spoiled by just how good they have been and how dominant they are.

The new bunch coming through feel a bit … ‘meh’ and no doubt we’ll start to see lots of different winners of the slams rather than it being shared amongst a few.
