Television The Mandalorian - TV Show

Anyone else think that when the mandalorian talks he sounds like garfield

I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is because people seem addicted to cliffhangers and "Oh shit!" moments in TV these days.

Adventure of the week stuff like Mandalorian usually doesn't grab people's imaginations like this has.

I just assumed it was that guy from the first episode, the one giving out all the bounties.

Seen a bunch of videos on YouTube saying that the little cameo we saw at the end could be a big revelation.

Boba Fett? It would be a bit much but I'd love it all the same. If that is the case, then some flasblacks as to how he escaped the Saarlac would be great.

No complaints about the latest episode from me, nice to finally see some space combat at the start and it was cool to be on Tatooine again and to see how it's changed post-fall of The Empire. If you don't take the show too seriously, it's just great fun each week, not too mention a darn-sight better than anything else Disney have done with SW, bar Rogue One.

Yep.
Twas the characteristic boot spur sounds that seem to be fuelling this theory.

Not really convinced. The weekly adventure formula is a bit lame to me honestly. Sure it's fun seeing Tattooine in stuff, but meh. I'll keep watching it though, who knows, might pick up at some point.

By the way, was the Sniper Lady, Street Fighter the movie's Chun Li?

Yeah weakest episode yet. Could barely make out what was happening during the night scenes and that noob Bounty Hunter was terrible.

I don't think it will be Boba. A lot of articles seem to be hinting at it like 'why would you call it The Mandalorian and not include the most famous one' 'the name The Mandalorian is a huge Chekov's gun' but Boba Fett is not a Mandalorian.

All these theories going around, it's probably just...
Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito's character), he was prominent in the trailers, yet to appear in the show and this is a bit of a giveaway IMO.

Its an easy watch, quite enjoyable. And man, the baby Yoda-ling is so damn cute.

Watchable is the right word for it, its very Disney, good fun if you don't take it too seriously.

That's one of the things I like about it... It's so simple yet so well executed that its a joy to watch.

The idea that "oh it was so predictable so I hated it" does my head in. Who cares if something is predictable? If its well made and the story is told well then that's the most important thing. Shocks for the sake of shocks are just bleh.

Enjoying the painted storyboards under the credits. Also enjoying that they've clearly spent/wasted so much money on something so pulpy - even as glossy pastiche.

4th one done. It's strangely addictive. I was expecting a hardcore gorefest originally but he seems to be a saint compared to the books about Mandalorians I read years ago.

Episode 6:

Always nice to see (well, hear) Richard Ayoade in things.

Slightly disappointed Bill Burr's character didn't threaten to put Mando through a wall.

Started promisingly but getting worse and worse each episode. These bounty hunts and helping some random people do random things just leads nowhere. Last episode was completely pointless, just like a couple before that one.

I actually prefer it. Arcs these days often end up too convoluted, open to ridicule, always involve some kind of forced love story and often find it difficult to one up on the previous season where the new bad guy always has to be bigger and badder. I just like the Star Wars universe and exposure to it, seeing the cool things that go on in each small location and just seeing day to day life and adventure, rather than it always focusing on the next enormous space battle and super weapon.

That was expected from this show and I as many people actually like and prefer that, like old school shows, not everything has to have continuous cliffhanger episodes.

I am loving it!

Always enjoy seeing Burr in things but ffs where do they find these actors??? They are all shite! It's certainly a SW show but doesn't feel all that SWey to me. I think a lot more money could be invested to make it better but it is Disney and this is probably what we are going to have to settle with.

Lovely show tonight.

Why does Mandalorian stop killing people after he got Baby Yoda? He killed some other bounty hunters on Baby Yoda quest, but after rescuing him...I don't think he's killed anyone. Also he seems more vocal than pre-Baby Yoda episodes. What drives the change?

I love it, good time, thats about, not expecting much more from Disney anyway.

Oh btw Bill Burr the legend after roasting Star Wars is in it, really didnt expect him to see in it.

Loved that last episode... Felt like an episode of Firefly.

That bit with closing the doors on hell boy and stalking the leader in the dark were fan-bloody-tastic

 The cast in this episode was stellar. Most of the cast members have huge huge acting careers and resumes.

Yeah, I watched the last episode again, might be my favorite until now, bloody brilliant!
