I don't think Rodwell or Wilshire have played enough to be mentioned and I don't think they would be if they weren't English.

They're talented though, no doubt.

Wilshere has played like what 4 games for Arsenal's first-team right?

I personally think Hazard, Pjanic and Ozil are the most talented atm.

I'm surprised people are talking about Pjanic.

He seemed talented but very raw and he's made most of his appearances for Lyon from the bench. He's got an impressive eye for a pass though.

You don't need to be a regular to be extremely talented, or else you should also be ashamed people mention Giovinco. Furthermore, Pjanic is starting to feature regularly in Lyon's starting 11 and has yet to disappoint the fans.

I'd agree that it's a bit of an overstatement to quote him as the most talented young player in Europe though. I reckon there are plenty of attacking midfielders who could be as effective as him in the future..

Stevan Jovetic will be the name on everyone's lips come the end of the season.

Cheers for the bump.

Vida was always going to make it, I never had any doubt. Once I saw him for Red Star Belgrade, you could just see he was a class above.

Suedesi, yes definetely a long story, but everybody was a BBC News rep back in those days of the caf, and to this day, you carnts still have no idea :)

Balotelli looks to have everything at his disposal. Whether he can put it all together or not is another question. But surprised he hasn't been mentioned nonetheless.

Let's not forget that Nani is also 22, still with a lot of potential. Messi 22, probably Ballon'dor winner this year. Eden Hazard is the best young player in France. Ashley Young for the PL, Higuin for RM is still quite young at 21. Barca still have Bojan, and Villareal have Rossi. So many players to look out for this season.

As intelligent as ever.

Maybe you'd have been better off trying to be a bit less sceptical about players you don't know.

;)
This has finally been brought to my attention. Browned is clutching at straws here - terrible effort. I hope you spent hours searching for this though. And for what? To prove me right. Who on this board other than Beckham007, he of wank myself silly over all serb footballers infamy, would have heard of Nenad Vidic back in 2002, even if Nenad turned out to be a catastrophic mispelling of the name Nemanja?

Back to bed Browned. Don't bother getting up again.

Ozil- Definite star in the making. Gona be worth like 30-40 million pounds after the world cup. Nobody starts for Germany national team when you are below 20 years old unless you are somehitng very special.

Has a brilliant eye for through balls (a la Dela Pena), set piece specialist, very good dribbles, can hammer the ball. Almost perfect replacement for Scholsey for United in my mind (considering Barca are never gona sell Xavi or Iniesta)

This German team has poorer players though

He is a winger right? What you on about perfect replacement for Scholes, you been taking posting lessons from Scholsey himself?

He can play both flanks as well as a central attacking midfielder.
can't see him in 2 man midfield myself. maybe in a 3 man midfield with a lot of freedom yes he would be brilliant. dont know why but he has Arsenal written all over him, Wenger would turn him into a brilliant player IMO.

Bojan should have went on loan to a lower outfit. He's lazing at the moment. I remember watching him at the U21 Euros and he was dire, although he was touted as the star of the tournament.

Pato, Jovetic and Keirrison have shown more already.
Apparently he's looked a bit rubbish for Benfica and Barcelona fans aren't too happy about buying him.

Ah but he's 22, I thought the cut-off age was 20?

Been Madrid's best player since Sep 08' though, better than Aguero and better than Pato, and to be able to do that when you start both seasons on the bench is mightily impressive.

Could even go as far back as March 08' when he was playing off the right wing for most of the last two months and still scoring regularly - from 1st March until the end of the season he scored a goal every 78 minutes, better than a goal a game.

Yeh, i know but i think Higuain is a top player.

It's amazing the amount of top talent coming through around europe atm and amazingly more talent than from South America. Exciting times ahead for some of the young players around Europe.

Higauin and Aguero's stats are pretty similar in all competitions. Especially when Aguero's been injured himself and has had to come off the bench to rescue Atletico in games.

I reckon Aguero will prove himself even more when he moves to a top club.

fecking brilliant player. He has everything you'd want in a striker. But he's 22 now, so I suppose that disqualifies him from being a 'youngster.'

My choice would by Pato. Hopefully he has two terrible games against us though.

Is that because of his performances in the U-21 Euro's or is he keeping up that level in the German league?

If he is I can see him at a top team in no time.

Van der Sar's saved it... United again!
Kroos has been scoring recently, hasn't he?
Six goals for Leverkusen so far. He's playing a good season for them and Bayern Munich seem to notice it. Last year, Hoeneß was slagging Kroos off and I thought they would sell him but now they seem to be adamant to keep him and bring him back to Munich. Kroos isn't really happy about that, because it'll be a lot harder for him to get games at Bayern than at Leverkusen.

Mind you, the most talented German player is still Özil. As talented as Kroos is, he's certainly not in the top 10 of the most talented young European players right now.

I seem to agree with you a lot although I don't always let you know but I think you're spot on. Higuain is probably one of the most underrated players on a world wide scale because he has done so much for such a big team without getting good praise. Maybe that's just a good thing in the end to be rid of the media. Everyone who watches Spanish football know, or should know him well.

Hard to say who's the biggest prospect. I've seen Sakho a couple of times and he's impressed me. Jovetic seems to be on his way being the best left midfielder. Would love him over here.
Pato is quite the obvious choice but for me the one who has surprised me most is Pedro. He's been a hidden little gem hasn't he?

I've only seen him play about 3 times since then but he has looked quite solid, got himself sent off last week though.
