Im sure he's all too aware of the reception he will receive once he is properly prisoned finding himself as an ex copper amongst a load of criminals. Warm feelings for me.
Let’s be honest that statement is pretty pointless as it may or may not be true. He’s either been battered by other coppers or he’s tried to head butt himself to death on the prison wall. Cant see it personally."He was in a cell on his own and there is no suggestion anyone else was involved."
Sounds like he wants an easy way out

Jesus well I guess in that position you’ll try anythingHe may have tried to do the toilet dive.
Absolutely!Didn’t reference a specific country, referenced the institution.
Negative police actions have more purchase than positive police actions, more impact. This ultimately isn’t fair on the entirety of the institution, but the institution allows these actions to continue through various errors.
Probably not the best thread in which to discuss this, but it’s pretty simple to see why many view the police in the negative extreme. It’s not like curtailing blanket statements from the anti-police side is going to make a difference one bit. That’s not going to change the institution.

I’m at a bit of a loss as to what individual men can do though. I mean, you can put out a message saying don’t attack women, but those who wouldn’t don’t need to be told and those who would aren’t going to listen. Shy of more and better policing, it’s difficult to see what would work.men do feck all. It’s madneas.
Do "minor" sexual offenders often progress to more serious acts? Or is it more a case that the worst sexual offenders tend to have a previous history of minor sexual offences? I don't know, you could well be right, but I'm sure it's certainly not a conclusion you could draw from this one case in particular. I do wonder how a policeman can be kept on active duty while under investigation for a sexual offence though.Tweet

Leaving aside any suggestion that he may have been treated differently because of his profession, one lesson you could take from this is that "minor" sexual offences should be taken very seriously as perpetrators will often progress to more serious acts without sufficient intervention.
Never have and never will!Never ever trust a police officer. And for anyone who thinks that I have done nothing wrong so I have nothing to worry about, not everything is as you think....
Bloody hell he did a Chris Benoit diving headbutt off the top ropeHe may have tried to do the toilet dive.
Could not have put it better myself so well done for encapsulating what others think.Sarah Everard case: Met police faces watchdog investigation - BBC News
It's sad it takes a fecking murder of someone for the London Met decide to take a "serious look at themselves" when people have been complaining about overly aggressive police, abusing their powers, racism and general shittery.
Seriously makes my blood boil that people think that London Met are the most innocent bunch out there. I've worked in security and been around lots of ex-coppers, some were calm, but others had hate seething through their blood - especially for black and asian people. Then the homophobia and sexism....don't even get me started.
The London Met, but the UK Police need a wider review and complete rehaul of their complaints handling, recruitment screening and incident review processes

Government cuts are a big problem. Not only have they cut numbers but they slashed the starting salary. Given the type of job it is you’d either have to be nuts or have no other options to consider joining the police. Which means you’re recruiting from the bottom of the barrel.Could not have put it better myself so well done for encapsulating what others think.
My biggest concern about the police force in general, apart from a very bad experience, is that they have managed to separate themselves from the public who they are supposed to be serving.
Far too many police stations have been closed and the only time you are likely to see them is when they are in a vehicle.
And yet, each year, the police charges added to our Council Tax is increased massively.
You cannot have it both ways.
But nowadays, don't you have to have a degree to get into the police force?Government cuts are a big problem. Not only have they cut numbers but they slashed the starting salary. You did but they're changing it. You can get in through apprenticeship now, or PCSO.But nowadays, don't you have to have a degree to get into the police force?
Yes I understand the government cuts. But that is the reality of life. But the police have a duty to engage with the public. It is not just an option.
Well...I didn't want to bring race into it considering how the Cavani, and Millwall Knee-booer threads went, but yes.Murder of a white woman.
Yeah I agree, I live in East London and it's like they've just given up in the area. There are local buildings I didn't even know were police stations, as they look derelict - they obviously have no funding.Could not have put it better myself so well done for encapsulating what others think.

Understandable. Just seems a massive shame that nothing gets the establishment thinking about how it acts like the death or mistreatment of a white person.Well...I didn't want to bring race into it considering how the Cavani, and Millwall Knee-booer threads went, but yes.
Racism in the police is definitely for another thread.Understandable. Just seems a massive shame that nothing gets the establishment thinking about how it acts like the death or mistreatment of a white person.
I can’t speak for the rest of the UK, but not in Northern Ireland. But nowadays, don't you have to have a degree to get into the police force?

He we go. We've always got to bring the colour of a person's skin into it in a thread like this. All the time this happens. It's getting tiring.Murder of a white woman.
Yes, I didn't intend to start a debate on that. Apologies.Racism in the police is definitely for another thread.
The definition of white privilege is getting bored of people raising questions around race and injustice. He we go. We've always got to bring the colour of a person's skin into it in a thread like this. All the time this happens. It's getting tiring.
I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
How do you know it would have been different reaction If she was a person of colour? It’s just poking for the sake of itThe definition of white privilege is getting bored of people raising questions around race and injustice.
Would you rather it went back to normal and these questions weren’t raised and you never had to think about it or discuss it?
Well said and brave of her for pointing it out, expect a pile on her now
As referenced by all those people of colour who go missing every week and spend the week on the front page of every newspaper in the country and hours of coverage on the news. How do you know it would have been different reaction If she was a person of colour? It’s just poking for the sake of it
Yeah I don’t think anyone had said all men are the problem, but I certainly think more men need to be better at calling out the behaviour being talked about by thousands of women when they see it (as I’m sure we all have).I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
But that also happens to white people does it not? There was a question asked in this thread why do we think this case gathered so much attention straight away. Not every case involving a white person does.As referenced by all those people of colour who go missing every week and spend the week on the front page of every newspaper in the country and hours of coverage on the news.
You disagreeing with it does not make it pointless. But that also happens to white people does it not? There was a question asked in this thread why do we think this case gathered so much attention straight away. Not every case involving a white person does.
The post above was pointless and added nothing. What do you think it added to the conversation.
A poor woman has been murdered and who knows what else happened. It has got nothing to do with the colour of her skin, so why bring it up? Its not the thread to do it in. We have other thread's for that. The definition of white privilege is getting bored of people raising questions around race and injustice.

Are people really saying all men are dangerous though?
Look at the comments on some of these tweets. Anyone that disagrees with things like "educate your sons" is now a rapist apparently. Obviously, you should never judge the nation by Twitter posters but right now, the idea to stop men from going out after 6pm is massively trending. Are people really saying all men are dangerous though?
