Gone to bed.
I think the Newbies booted me from their league. No big deal.
Same here. Didn't actually realise it was a newbies league until I joined it.

Nearly used my wildcard but resisted the temptation. Got rid of Carrick so he'll probably score tomorrow...

I didn't know it was a Newbie League either. The thread title made it look as if it were the reg. league. I didn't read the post inside and realised after. What a bunch of pussies! Booting teams is cheap.

Hoping Carrick scores, but you're probably right to offload him. That midfield is looking almost unwatchable.

ye i didnt really understand that other fantasy thread - was clearly started in the newbies but then i guess a mod moved it over here?

if they are booting people out then i guess there is no point in having the thread stickied in this forum

anyway game on - week 3 ...

Up to first despite un-captaining Rooney.

Lampard better do something tommorow. And Terry, the useless cnut.

Up to second and stripped Rooney of the captaincy also. Went with Arshavin instead. Second week in a row the captain has done nothing for me.

Wish they would just make you highest scoring player the captain instead of relying on us to pick one. Would do a hell of a lot better.

I think I got kicked out of that newbies league as well.

Looks like Ck7 is the Newbie responsible for booting people. The first post in that thread indicates from RontheRed...

"Enter this code to join the redcaf newbie league

12731-4518

Thanks to ck7"

:nono:

Poor form by ck7, his promotion to the regular forum should be held up for an additional 6 months, me thinks.

to be honest, if they want a pure Newbie league then fair enough - but not sure why the thread appeared over here in the Mains in that case?
If any mod is reading then might as well deleted that thread from here:

The Real Caftard League is very tough this year - I have moved up places in all the other leagues I am in this week but moved down in Real Caftard terms - still got Torres to play tonight though ...

Agreed. I also have Torres and he's my captain so I think there are points to be had here. Carragher also.

Having Liverpool players is win-win. If their best players do well, you get points. If they do badly, it's likely that the team fecked up and we get to see them drop points/lose! Sad, but true.

Perhaps Mike 'Marching' can influence someone to move it to the Newbies forum. Would be sufficient punishment for using a thread title that has been used for at least 4 years as an open league in the main football forum.

Or we could ban them and recommend Red Issue - but that would be too harsh.

Speaking of Mike, nice choice for Captain. This is the way I am hoping to see the scoreline, today.

Final Score 3 - 4

Kyut (19), Kyut (38), Kyut (89)

Agbonlahor (12), Shorely (20), Petrov (46), Heskey (90)+

That's how I feel.

I picked the best I could from Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea - and even City. It's usually the kiss of death for them that way.

If not, my team at least does well.

Who woulda thunk, me tied for first place in the third round? Mike making a comeback, almost onto page one. You can do it, Mike. Sucks that Kyut didn't score more for us, this week. He sure had enough chances. As Livvie and the others pointed out, I'm ok with a loss on the fantasy team if it means United goes ahead.

As for Mr. Tabasco Sauce - Nice job beating me by 2 point in the Head-to-Head.

I`m a bit torn regarding my captaincy this week.

Rooney who usually does well against Arsenal or
Lampard or Anelka who have Burnley at home...

Any tips?

Currently 24th, I think I'm going to get rid of Carrick and Geovanni soon, maybe P.Neville and Zamora too.. I've been happy enough with everyone else so far. I was debating getting rid of Ashley Young too, but after doing that against Liverpool I think I'll give him a few more games xD

Good job I wasn't so quick to try and buy Fabregas, glad I waited since he's injured now.

i have a similar dilemma for captain this week and so far my captain choice has been wrong each time - really does make all the difference as well.

thinking of dropping Pienaar for Delph. Too soon you reckon?
I think Pienaar is likely to play more often than Delph

Both excellent arguments. I would choose Lampard, I think. Though history against certain opponents is important.

I have opted for Drogba, who I have transferred in for Torres. He's got me a couple, we'll see if there's method in my madness here!

Pienaar has been dreadful so far. Although they do play Wigan next, so I think I'll keep him on.
Last chance for Carrick too this weekend.

With regards to the fantasy league, if i were to do a substitution immediately after a game, will the points earned in the previous fixture be earned? Reason being there are some players which are involved in the later kickoff, and i would like to bring them into my first eleven with the intention to earn maximum points.

Sorry. What i meant was, my lineup consist of Defoe. After the spurs game, i swapped him immediately for Rooney. Are you saying that Rooney's contribution will not be counted? How about Defoe, it seems like i have lost my points for his performances today? No?

yesterdays Spurs match?
if you swapped him after yesterday then you'd lose points if Rooney was on the bench, unless one of your other players didn't play then he may have been subbed on.
Defoe still played 80 minutes yesterday so you'll get some points for him
