Yeah, to factor in arguably the second best leftback in the draft, no biggie, Brehme would still be up there with the likes of Zanetti on the other flank.He actually was a rightback when he lost him

Cheers mate! I do respect EAP's decision though - it would be a minefield deciding which non-participants votes count double so for simplicity's sake its probably best limiting it to managers only. To be honest, I hate casting the deciding vote in a close game so it'll likely be better for me that my vote counts for less.
I do think the issue of scan voters is a bit overstated. It was brought up a few drafts ago and I took a look at who actually voted in one game. Out of 20-30 voters, all but 2 or 3 had either commented in the match thread, or were managers, former managers or regular contributors. Nought wrong with experimenting with the format though. This draft has been a great read so far.

It's pretty irrelevant once so many restrictions have been brought in. E.g. blocked list here, that has done away with those who were ridiculously overrated, inc. among managers. It's hard to use the word with Maldini but I remember him having Garrincha in his pocket AND troubling my RB. Nonsense, clearly.
Also, the more you extend the timelines the more careful people are with their votes. 50s draft was a case in point, it had low participation because people unfamiliar with most players were fully aware they were voting based on jack shit. I do think that generally speaking voting makes sense overall. In fact, it is more coherent and rational than you would expect if you read people's opinions and debates in any random thread in the caf.

I think this is the key point really. The modern drafts are the worst in terms of scan voters as everybody has an idea of who they are and how they played. The older ones are usually the brilliant ones. The WC draft being by far the funniest I've been involved in with so many great stories being told and players who had never been mentioned before was brought up to the highlight.

Mauro Silva in the 11th round ?
Silva is one of those players who used to be slightly overrated, and then now I'd say he's instead a bit underrated due to the spam of the Dunga-Silva pairing. Silva is a great pick in the 11th round in my mind.
Yeah, this has been the most uneven draft as par as picking is concerned imo. Lots of superb picks left late and many still unpicked...yet relatively new to draft players have taken the priority here.
Hopefully this round is faster than the last! Would be brilliant to get the draws done.
