Everywhere you look there's mental takes

Juveniles 400 degrees is in the top 100!
It's a place above GFKs Ironman!

God awful list. Illmatic is known as the greatest Hip Hop album. On another forum they had a knockout tournament for 100 Hip Hop albums or so, the final was Illmatic vs Me Against The World which is what I'd consider the two best Hip Hop albums.

Also no Bone Thugs?

No Tupac, Nas, Ice Cube or Eminem in the top 20 is an absolute disgrace.

The fact that Ice Cube had no album on the list until number 58 is the biggest insult to hip hop I have ever seen. Absolutely clueless.

87. Ultramagnetic MCs, 'Critical Beatdown' (1988)
79. Eric B. & Rakim, 'Follow the Leader' (1988)
40. Dr. Dre - 'The Chronic' (1992)
24. Nas - 'Illmatic' (1994)
15. Eric B. and Rakim - 'Paid in Full' (1987)

There's quite a few more great albums that should be way higher, but these are the most outrageous. I hate these lists. 3 fecking Eminem albums and Rakim's 18th letter is nowhere to be found.

DJ Shadow’s Endtroducing not a top 200 hip hop album?

Surprised not to see The Documentary on there, no idea why Donda is so high on the list.

People may not like Macklermore and Izzy Agaelia but you can't deny they've had a big impact on the culture over the last 10 years. You'd never have Machine Gun Kelly or Rhapsody without them.

There's so many things wrong with this list that I don't even know where to start.
Can't believe I overlooked Illmatic at 24, the person responsible for the list has to be doing it for attention.

Is Speakerboxxx/The Love Below not allowed or something? I mean, it is essentially two albums and one of them isn't really hiphop, so I guess it makes sense. Otherwise it's far and away Outkast's best work.

It should not be above Ironman but 400 degrees is a regional classic for sure

The list is pure basura though
I don't dislike 400 degreez - I brought it back in the day and played it plenty - I'll still throw Ha or Back that Ass Up on the Spotify from time to time. Regional classic is a good way of describing it actually.

Never in a million years is it a top 200 album of all time

And they don't even have Supreme Clientele in the top 100.

No Wu Tang Forever either (assuming it's in the top 200). It's ridiculous.
Tbf Supreme is at 14 which might be the only album on the list that's roundabout where it should be (though personally id have it higher)

You are not arguing their case well.

I'm wondering what they based this ranking on.

26-24 had more influence on the direction of hip-hop, sold more and were better critically received by reviewers and fans alike.

As you said, it's most likely clickbait

It's on 124th position there.

Rolling Stone lists are always terrible. That's how they generate discussion.

Under the roof, above the clouds
This :
40. Dr. Dre - 'The Chronic' (1992)
This :
24. Nas - 'Illmatic' (1994)
And this :
93. Ice Cube, 'Death Certificate' (1991)

Is completly, utterly insane. Like what the hell.

Stankonia over Aquemini and Yeezuz and Donda over Late Registration is almost criminal.

Still, the most amazing this on this whole list is this :
19. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist (2008)

The 19 best hip hop album of all time!!! Really??????????

Interesting to see Company Flow, DJ Shadow and Dr. Octagon listed but the further I went down the list the more and more angry I got.

Stankonia FFS, I completely lost my shit at that point. It is not even Outkast's 2nd best album.
Illmatic not top 20 but Cardi B is!
It just seems random as feck the more you look at it.

Liquid Swords and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx are both way too low. IMO the best Wu Tang related output, and that includes Enter The 36 Chambers. Surprised they even put Supreme Clientele above LS and OB4CL, as much as I love Ghostface (probably my all time favourite rapper), it's not a better LP than those two.

But then you see Cardi B, and you realise it's clearly a trolling list. Might as well have put PJ and Duncan in there.

What is worth considering, is whether rap fans tend to be too fixated on the golden age of rap from the NY region, when it comes to making lists like this.

Ilmatic and the Purple Tape are awesome but so much (some good) has happened since then. This list did a shitty job of trying to figure that out, but I'm sure a better list can be created that balances the old and new.

For example: Future has created a top 75 album and I'll die on that hill

Mumble crap should be nowhere near an all time list

Wait Endtroducing is on this list? That's stretching a bit.

It should be way way higher. Like top-5. Incredible piece of work. I just wouldn't have it down as hip-hop per say.

Imagine listening to Endtroducing and then deciding it's 80 spots behind any Drake aor Cardi B album . Give me a break. Are these actual music critics? Jesus wept.
