Trump is a grifter.

He always has been, always will be.

People get blinded by wealth somehow, and assume that because he has it, he is clever, a 'businessman' whatever that is these days, skilfull.

He is a moron born to rich people, who has only ever made money from conning people. A grifter, just happens to be a rich one.
ABC.... Always Be Conning.

I'm still young but I remember Labour getting a 100+ majority not that long ago.
Labour got it's biggest vote share since 1945 but yes there was also the win in 97. Still overall the Left did turn out this last election.

Its really quite simple for the Dems just back Bernie policies and you'll win over the country.

There's nigh-on 50,000 posts in this thread. Since November.

It seems that insanity and predisposition of the membrane is a characteristic not exclusive to Trump.
I assume you don't think those two things are really comparable? What's your own opinion on the guy?

I think the 'fake news' repetition is a sign he is very, very angry at people not bowing to his message, in fact, I'd say he sounds nervous.

It is obviously bothering him that he is being challenged on what he says and what he does. His inability to deal with anything in any terms other than 'how it affects me' will be his downfall.

I know it's already been posted...but, I still can't resist posting it again

Secret Service can't pay agents for Trump and his family, report says

Trump on pace to surpass 8 years of Obama's travel spending in 1 year
Washington (CNN)The Secret Service cannot pay hundreds of agents to protect President Donald Trump and his large family, according to a report published Monday morning.

Secret Service Director Randolph "Tex'' Alles told USA Today more than 1,000 agents have already hit the federally mandated caps for salary and overtime allowances -- which were meant to last the entire year.

"The president has a large family, and our responsibility is required in law,'' Alles told USA Today. "I can't change that. I have no flexibility.''

Trump has taken trips almost every weekend of his presidency so far, to his properties in New Jersey, Virginia and Florida, as well as internationally -- and his adult children also require protection during their business trips and vacations.

In Trump's administration, 42 people have protection, which includes 18 members of his family -- an increase from the 31 people who had Secret Service protection in Obama's administration.

In June, CNN reported that the Secret Service was relaxing its drug policy for potential hires, as Alles laid out a plan to swell the agency's ranks by more than 3,000 employees in the coming years.

"I think between that and the fact that he has a larger family, that's just more stress on the organization. We recognize that," Alles said at the time, and added that he had been allocating resources in accordance.

Alles has met with congressional lawmakers to discuss planned legislation to increase the combined salary and overtime cap for agents -- from $160,000 per year to $187,000. He told USA Today this would be at least for Trump's first term.

But he added that even if this were approved, about 130 agents still wouldn't be able to be paid for hundreds of hours already worked.

The Secret Service and the White House have not responded to CNN's requests for comment.

In April, CNN reported that Trump's travel to his private club in Florida has cost more than an estimated $20 million in his first 80 days in office, putting the President on pace to surpass former President Barack Obama's eight years of spending on travel -- in only his first year in office.

Before and during the campaign season, Trump regularly criticized Obama for costing the American taxpayer money every time he took a trip, and Trump the candidate repeatedly called for belt-tightening across government agencies.

In 2014, Trump tweeted: "We pay for Obama's travel so he can fundraise millions so Democrats can run on lies. Then we pay for his golf."

Golf, by the way, is also one of Trump's regular presidential pastimes.
This stuff wouldn't be an issue for me - but, the asshole and Fox News bitched about Obama for years and years...and here he is, in 1 year matching what Obama did in 8 years!

I agree but if it was that simple, he would have won the primaries.

Probably the best news for the Democrats. May force them to to take a more progressive route and not rely on cooperate donations.
No, it's not.

If you read the article(s) - vast majority of that money is in small contributions. Small contributions which speak to people engaging, being enthused and excited. The more people you get like that - the more likely you are to having a good grassroots campaign.

Dems are struggling in this respect. While the turnout for the special elections have been very positive (politico reckons, if they maintain this - they will pick up a significant amount of seats in the House...however, money talks!)

Oh, look! It's the people who not only believe that the policies they support are 100% guaranteed to work as intended, but also that the only reason those policies and their champions don't win in landslides is due to opposition conspiracy.

I'm with you on that but I was pointing to the fact the the DNC establishment was clearly focused on her rather than Bernie.
How dare the Democrats focus on the democrat instead of the independent. Bernie wanted that sweet DNC cash instead of running as a true independent. If this was the case and it turned in to a three horse race I truly believe he could of won with Trump in 3rd place, or at least pull enough votes away from this fecking disaster of a human.

1. Not the cash, he didn't want to be Nader for 2 reasons - irrelevant and a boost for the GOP
2. Bernie would have been crushed as a 3rd party nominee in the general. Trump would have carried his base and won.

Because Obama won two elections. They let a black man win not once, but twice. You'd think - that would be the perfect time to set things in motion.
I wasn't talking nationally btw. I just suspect its happened more than once in some of the supposedly red states that demographically are slowly moving towards blue.
