Thiago is not good enough for a team which wants to win something, I'd still prefer we keep him though. We have too many midfielders but he offers something a bit different, having all three of Goretzka, Tolisso and Sanches doesn't make sense though.
Has Renato impressed in pre season or something? Was extremely bad for Swansea last year.

Parents are Brazilian, he was born in Italy, raised in Spain and his brother plays for Brazil.

Na, don't think so. He played one pre-season friendly against PSG where he scored a good goal. Then he got an injury. I think the Bayern board really doesn't want the Sanches deal to be a failure so one of Kovac's main tasks is probably to make him into a decent squad option.

Said it lots of times, Thiago whilst currently better due to being/approaching his peak is very similar to Pereira and I just don’t see the point in signing someone so similar to Pereira especially when our priority areas are right forward and left back.

I think Pereira was the standout player in pre season and impressed last night too, I think he’s adapting to that Carrick’esque role very well and having Carrick around on the training ground daily can only speed up his progress so I’d say midfield is where we’re actually strongest now so no need at all for Thiago.

Agreed! Hope he can develop more. Lovely to see those low hard passes he makes through the midfield:drool: With sharper attackers yesterday I think we would have stomped Leicester. Pogbas delicious ball to Sanchez I believe was instigated by a smart and quick pass from deep by Pereira. Carrick comparison looking more and more apt.

I wonder why me might not be keen?
Most of them are short term in the last few years. Wouldn't mind him here.

96 league games in 5 years for Bayern
Never managed more than 27 league games in a season (for Barca or Bayern)
Fantastic player but would cost a lot and I'm not sure with that injury record at 27 that I'd fancy giving him a big 5 year deal ( im sure somebody will)
