I was there in the stadium and they did the right thing with Taker. Cena got an insane pop though! Insane.

When rock took him out it makes sense for the Rock to get blindsided in a way. Keeps his credibility no matter how awesome Austin would have been.

Austin had no history with Roman. Taker is like the guardian of WWE and he made an appearance above us in the crowd first match that night waving to fans so we thought the guy is just watching the show.

Caught us completely off guard and it was incredible.

I’m glad that Tiffany Stratton is already inserting herself into the main event picture, as I hoped. I was a bit concerned when she lost to Naomi last week.

People say that she’s only 24 and she’s got years ahead to win multiple titles etc, but personally I like to see wrestlers get the spotlight when they’re at their absolute physical peak, rather than having to wait years for the same old same olds to shuffle off into retirement.

Can Sami trust them again, the civil war story is going to go hard
He can trust jey and he can do it for jey because he's that type of guy.
They can get a lot of mileage with that build to the point he accepts for that night.

Awesome night to go, little jealous. Did you go both nights ? Or any other events from that week?

We did a trip around the east coast for 2 weeks but built it all just around the two Mania nights in Philly.

So epic honestly. As good as I thought this mania would be the second night absolutely exceeded expectations. The dream was always to be at a show like WM30 or WM17 and I think the second night lived upto the billing.

Tickets were pricey but looking back worth every penny for the memory as it could be both my first and last mania in the States.

The cost is just so high so I don’t mind going out on such a high point either now.

It will always be almost impossible to beat seeing the Rock live and in my opinion a 5 star main event… even if Meltzer says 4.75…

That was one of the greatest wrestling matches of all time from what I could tell when I watched it back at home the other day.

Granted we also saw an all time classic in the Gunther match too so was kinda spoilt this year despite the slow middle part of the first night with Jay / Jimmy bombing hard. We were so up for that but it was just so underwhelming.

Their styles just didn’t match one bit.

It crossed my mind that the generation of talent with Bayley, Charlotte, Becky Lynch etc would have been training to be wrestlers when WWE would have been still hosting bikini contests and having 3 minute toilet break matches

Obvious answer is that they probably had Japan etc on their minds while training, but I really applaud the level they’ve reached considering how the landscape was when they were grafting to make it

I've seen a few of them say as much in recent interviews. Chelsea Green too.

Acting really injured or concussed is the only storytelling device Bryan uses these days. He's shite, just empty moves and empty stories for the "bangerz".
Bryan just really doesn't do it for me. Even the whole yes movement was cringy as feck.

DB or BD is alright but yeah never really got the love in for him as a top star. I think I enjoyed Rhodes story more.

Why do you say that?
Being in wrestlings B team when he could still be a top guy in the A team. Said himself it’s to do a lesser schedule didn’t he? Also came out with that guff about not wanting to be the champion any more. Some people may think that’s good for whatever silly reason but for me it’s pathetic. If I had his ability I’d do more with myself

This makes no sense. Hes done all of that already. Hes been wrestling for 25 years now and is 42 with a kid. If he had no ambition he could have just stuck with WWE like @Ronaldo's ego stated. But he basically said hes going to stop wrestling full time this year, so now for him, its about having the matches he wants.
Hes main evented mania, he probably wants to wrestle wembley stadium later this year, he probably wants to just have his own dream matches. Thats his ambition whilst also wanting to be around for his kid.
But its pathetic to you? ok mate.

All the best wrestlers have held a title after 42 while having kids. So dunno what your point is

Not denying he’s probably just having the matches he wants. It’s just a shame the matches he wants are in front of a half audience and don’t matter. When he could be doing much more

The opinions here are getting weird

Man enjoys lighter schedule doing the thing he loves and getting well-paid

"fecking cnut"

He'll probably come back for another run in wwe before long anyway

My point is that its weird that youre calling somebody pathetic and lacking ambition when hes doing what he wants to do on his own terms whilst being paid well.

Bryan was a great babyface and he was very entertaining and funny as Planet's Champion.

Now it's all just Meltzer-pandering shite. He's more than welcome wind down his career by putting guys over and having bangers but a heatless, storyless feud with Ospreay over who can do the graps better holds feck all interest to me.

Danielson is shite    This thread gets a bit silly sometimes.

Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with the excessive fawning over him vs Ospreay, it was a technically great match, but it didn't matter. I'd take a well built match I have reason to care about with less athleticism every time.

Dynasty was a pretty good PPV, with some filler holding it back a little. I don't understand the Jack Perry push, just because there's some footage of him getting manhandled backstage doesn't mean he's going to develop some charisma or be able to cut a promo.

Swerve being on top is great though, well deserved.

I never called him pathetic. I'd consider mostly anyone who could be doing much more than they are currently doing, by choice, as lacking ambition. With some exceptions - such as an up and comer pacing themselves while they learn. Maybe i'm wrong, but I believe Bryan could still be a Wrestlemania main eventer. Deciding by choice instead to job himself out constantly at a lesser company is a shame. If you disagree, then so be it. But I don't understand where I'm so wrong.

Also Jericho winning and getting booed was expected. Surely they can put someone else over.

I'm just happy that, as fans of this crazy wrestling world, and after a long period with a few decent matches sprinkled around what was largely shite, we are all eating well again. The product as a whole (I don't really buy into the WWE Vs AEW crap) hasn't been this good in years. Even better if you take the time to look at the Indies too.

TBF going by this threads history, most of AEW doesnt interest you yet you still watch it and comment on it :P

TBF, theyve been building it since March 6th. Its had a good six week build since the first dynamite after the last PPV.
