So, end of year list time!

The only rule I'm laying down is that the film had to have had its' release where you live in 2018.

1. Gi-Eok-Ui Bam (Forgotten)
2. Hereditary
3. Three Billboards
4. Avengers: Infinity War
5. Searching
6. Annihilation
7. Mandy
8. Bird Box
9. Summer of '84
10. Veronica

Most disappointing: The Nun

Honorable mentions: Upgrade, MI6, Gonjiam, BlackKklansman, Game Night

Haven't seen: Spiderverse, Wreck It Ralph 2, Suspiria, First Man, Overlord

Looking back I really have not seen too many movies in 2018 at all - I've only been to the cinema maybe twice all year (and I can't remember what I saw on the first trip) - if it helps I watched Mary Poppins Returns over the weekend and I balled my eyes out like a child several times and loved it.

Can only manage eight, the rest aren't list worthy -

1. Spiderman
2. Annihilation
3. Blackkklansman
4. Eighth Grade
5. Ralph Breaks The Internet
6. MI:6
7. A Quiet Place
8. First Man

Biggest disappointment - Mandy. Bored the shit out of me.

Not yet seen Roma or The Favourite. Will never see A Star is Born.

There are a shit-ton of films I still need to see, but my list is something like:

1. Coco
2. Mission Impossible 6
3. Three Billboards
4. Avengers IW
5. Black Panther
6. A Quiet Place
7. Game Night
8. Ralph Breaks the Internet
9. Incredibles 2
10. Molly's Game

Need to see - Roma, Hereditary, Blackkklansman, Mandy, Spiderman, First Man, Isle of Dogs, Balled of Buster Scruggs, Searching, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Tully, Widows, Overload, Sorry To Bother You, You Were Never Really Here, If Beale Street Could Talk, Leave No Trace, The Favourite.

Annihilation is both my biggest disappointment, and most overrated film of the year.

Roma
Phantom Thread
Cold War
I, Tonya
Spiderman into the Spiderverse
The Favourite (saw a preview on Monday morning so I guess it counts although it wasn't released officially until New Years day)
They Shall Not Grow Old
BlacKkKlansman
Faces Places
Mission Impossible 6

I also liked: Annihilation, A Quiet Place, Avengers Infinity War, Black Panther, A Star is Born, Mamma Mia 2 (bit ashamed of this one), First Man, Kaiser, Bohemian Rhapsody (despite it being a largely crap film), Three Billboards, The Shape of Water, Hereditary, Mary Poppins Returns, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Isle of Dogs and Shoplifters. There are some others I can't remember, the worst film I saw was probably Ready Player One.

This is so hard. Here goes (no particular order)
Loved
MI:6
Three Billboards
Avengers: IW
Game Night
Deadpool 2
The spy who dumped me (feck off, I thought it was funny)
A Star is Born
Bohemian Rhapsody
Antman and the Wasp
Hated
How it ends
Mortal Engines
Fantastic Beasts something something
Red Sparrow
Venom

And special attention for the Happy Time Murders which is honestly one of the worst, crudest, unfunniest, brainvomit inducing pieces of shite I've ever had the displeasure of watching. The creators of this movie should be shot.

I've really not seen that many movies this year as I haven't really had a load of spare time, but I really liked all of these (in no particular order).

Avengers: Infinity War
Black Panther
Incredibles 2
BlacKkKlansman
Mission Impossible: Fallout
Ant-Man and the Wasp

I'd have to have a think, but my top two are Coco and MI:6
Coco is a 2017 film, but I loved it too!

I find these lists to be immensely uninspiring, which is telling me that I'm likely not Hollywood's target group.

I watched a Danish movie, the guilty (skyldige). Has to be the best movie of 2018.

I'm suprised no one's produced an overly hipster look at me list yet.

The Guardians 2019 most anticipated films is brilliant for that, has Avengers 29th and Toy Story and Lion King both outside the top 10. Who they kidding

Agree with a lot of the mentions above - though there are also quite a few I’m yet to watch.

Enjoyed Crazy rich Asians as well though. Would probably fit into my top 10.

1) A star is born
2) Avengers
3) MI: 6
4) Crazy rich Asians
5) Searching
6) Hereditary
7) Love Simon
8) Birdbox
9) First man
10) BlackKklansman

Wasn’t too impressed by Annihilation. Too many I haven’t watched though. Too much to do, too little time.

Disappointing lack of Outlaw King. Brilliant film, not everyone will like it as they'll compare it to Braveheart but for me it was enjoyable. Pacing was a little fast at times. But it was much better than most of the shite released this year.

I honestly don't get why people are mentioning Birdbox, that film was a frustrating mess. Each to their own, i'd put that film as one of the most disappointing this year for me.

Wasn't three billboards from last year and nominated for the best picture too? Loved it btw.

Sadly I've seen very few of this year's films.

The ones I've liked:
MI Fallout - Brilliant action flick
Annihilation - Terrific film

That's about it. Didn't find infinity war anything special. Look forward to recommendations from this thread.

Was Logan from this year? Now that was outstanding.

Films I’ve seen that were released in 2018

Modern classics:
Coco
Phantom Thread
Death of Stalin
Ladybird
The Wife
The Favourite

Top-tier blockbusters:
Black Panther
Infinity War
Mission Impossible: Fallout

Bat-shit crazy modern horror that I loved:
Suspiria
Hereditary

Four star films:
I, Tonya
Outlaw King
A Quiet Place (I should have seen this at the cinema, don’t think it worked as it should have at home on my own)
A Star is Born
Love, Simon
The Incredibles 2
The Miseducation of Cameron Post
Only You
On Chesil Beach

Unsure what I thought - do I need to revisit?
The Shape of Water (This probably makes me a bad person - I just failed to believe the core relationship)
Annihilation

Three stars:
Game Night
Ant Man and the Wasp
Crimes of Grindelwald
Bohemian Rhapsody
Venom (Against all odds, Tom Hardy actually made me enjoy this)
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again (If you don’t love ABBA you don’t have a soul)

Pretty rubbish really:
Solo, Deadpool 2, Ready Player One (outside The Shining scene), I Feel Pretty (don’t ask)

I tried but gave up on Mandy. Will maybe give it another go in the future.

Yeah I seem to say this every year but it's been pretty bang average this time around.
I thought it was a great year for films, which I normally do.

From this thread I make my ‘need to watch’ list:
Roma, Spider-verse, First Man, Sorry to Bother You, Blackkklansman, Cold War, Bird Box, Widows
