Not a single person expected us to overtake City for second for feck sake. We were enjoying the run we were/are on and having fun.
I can’t understand the panic stations over a draw. Your team has completely turned around just before and after the restart. Months ago you were floundering and now your mgr and players are back to scaring off teams before they walk on the pitch. Even if you don’t make it I wouldn’t label it as a disaster considering you are more than relevant again even enough so to consider you a threat next season to the big two. Trust me we aren’t happy about what’s going on at united which in turn you would think you lot are ecstatic.

Norwich will be easy, but its the last easy game from either Leicester or Chelsea. I'd say Leicester will also beat Sheffield Utd but Sheffields turned it around again so who knows. I'm more expecting matchweek 37 to be when both drop though.

We're nowhere near that yet. We're at a point where we can play good football when there's little pressure. Long way to go before we can challenge for serious things.

This is the most reasonable post in here, which is why it will be completely ignored by people’s screaming for Solskjaer to go and Lindelöf to be sold.

United counter attack in the 89th minute when Leicester trying to win. Bruno with an absolute screamer makes it 2-3

I have a feeling it Will be decided on the last day. Nerv wrecking as feck.

I was confident until this match. I think lack of rotation hurt us last night. Palace arent as competent at pressing as Southampton but they know how to give us a game. I am hopeful we will still win but basically I am now putting more hope into Leicester continuing to implode.

Weird that if we win all our remaining matches we'll only have 68 points and that could be enough to finish 3rd!

This is only 2 points higher than our points total last season when we finished 6th. Tells you all want to know about how crap the quality of the league in the top has been this season.

Or, you know. How strong the league is in general. Depends how you want to see it.

I also think VAR might have had a lil impact on evening the field, allowing refs to have that to fall back on if they make a obvious error instead of giving a dodgy call in favor of the team that "should be winning".

Ended up making a topic on this in the main forum (before seeing these posts), since I think it would be interesting to see everyones predictions, i didn't include wolves though I think they're too far off at this stage, 6 points off with 3 games is a bit of a stretch although mathematically possible

Oh, I know - I think the title is too far off next season, but with 4-5 signings over the next 2 years, I think we'll be there or thereabouts. The poster I was responding to was saying we were cocky for thinking we could overtake City THIS season. Which nobody ever seriously suggested.

Sounds about right. Bookies take everything into consideration. Form, fixtures, injuries etc. Unlike the doom and gloomers on here who lose their minds after one poor result.

United
  • Top of the form table.
  • Palace. Rock bottom on form table with five losses on the bounce. Pretty much on the beach.
  • West Ham. Yes they 'need points'. But Brighton, Bournemouth, Villa also 'needed points' yet we dispatched them quite comfortably.
  • Leicester. No form. Most likely missing 3/4 of their first choice defence. Their creative force (Maddison) is a doubt.

Leicester
  • Have barely won a game since Christmas.
  • Pereira, Soy confirmed out. Chilwell, Maddison serious doubts. That's half of the core missing.
  • Sheffield. Rejuvenated in the last few games. Key defenders are back from injuries/suspension. They're 7th and Europa is in their hands (I've ruled out Arsenal winning the FA cup).
  • Spurs. Have improved defensively. Also still in Europa contention. Mourinho has a history of screwing over Brenton.
  • United. How will their makeshift defence cope with the most in form attack in the league? We made light work of Sheffield's makeshift defence recently.

Chelsea
  • Defensively they're all over the place.
  • Norwich. The easiest game any team could hope for at this stage. This will be a walk in the park.
  • Liverpool. Three important factors here. 1) This is the trophy lifting game so they'll be motivated. 2) They need 3 wins to break the points record. They need 7 points to reach the century and equal City's record. 3) They'll remind you that they're unbeaten at home for god knows how many games.
  • Wolves. They're a dark horse in this top 4 race. No one's really talking about them but in my opinion they're a bigger threat to Chelsea than Leicester are. If they beat Burnley and Palace they will be on 61 points. Assuming Chelsea win tonight and lose at Anfield they'll be on 63 points. A hungry wolf pack against a dodgy Chelsea defence and a potentially a CL spot on the line could be a really tasty proposition.

We should have won last night and ideally should have had top 4 secured before the final day. But shit happens. Nonetheless we're in the best position when you take everything into consideration.
Perfectly put. Jose can absolutely shithouse a win against Leicester and Sheffield Utd will be a massively stern defensive test against a Leicester team who look short of ideas creatively without Maddison. Heck, even if they did have Maddison, it would be a very difficult task, as shown by Chelsea's 'performance' there on Saturday.

Liverpool will be an absolute bastard of a nut to crack for Chelsea, and Wolves will probably be going in to the game with Sheffield Utd, Arsenal and Spurs breathing down their backs for 6th and an outside chance of getting 4th if results go their way.

I would be very surprised if both picked up more than 4 points across the games they have left to play.

I think Chelsea and United are about equal odds for top 4 (let's say 75% chance each) but I think Leicester have a 50-50 chance of upsetting one of the two.

The league can't be that strong when you look at the ridiculous points tally Liverpool have gathered which is close to what the league winners collected the last 2 seasons as well.

It's just that most of the top teams have been crap this season. City had a very poor and inconsistent season with very weird results, Chelsea had ups and downs and were never consistent and we ourselves had a disastrous first half before improving in the second one.

Crystal Palace vs United: 1-1 draw
Manchester United vs West Ham: 0-1 loss
Leicester vs United: 2-2

Chelsea will beat Norwich, Liverpool and draw to Wolves.

Leicester will draw Sheffield, beat Spurs and draw versus us.

My prediction.

The league can both be strong in general at the same time as liverpool is even stronger. They (unfortunately) have a very strong team now, but they have also been very lucky this season, nerving out a lot of late winners like we did in the past. I'd say to the point of overperforming in some of the matches I've watched em.

The cockiness here about steamrolling through 3rd and possibly even overtaking Manchester City for second was on the same level as that deluded Chelsea fan thinking Chelsea would make Sheff United lay down and lose like they're a nothing club.

I like that United play Palace and Westham next. Not that they are any good teams, far from it. But they are the most cnutish game raising shitty feckers who just won't feck off. Hoping Palace atleast takes 2 points away from United but I'm very much hoping Westham gets a hamering. Too bad we've conspired to aid their relegation survival.

PS: United could really do with some rotation in their next two games. First XI is great but they look tired.

You can't have watched the league this season and thought it's a strong league. You can't have watched it and thought anything else than "meh". There's basically one strong team, which did well in the league and got knocked out of all the other cup competitions, a potentially fearsome team that wasn't up to the challenge this year, and a lot of "ok" teams.

I can't see Leicester getting more than 3 points from their last 3 games and Chelsea at max will get 5 points. 2 wins in next 2 games will get us top 3. Hopefully our midfield and defence doesn't crumble on the slight bit of pressure like yesterday and help our forward who will score goals to get us the win.

Chelsea are 1/8 to win tonight, that's the lowest odds I've seen for a game for a while.
Well, they are up against one of the weakest PL sides in living memory, so I'm not surprised.

They will hammer Norwich tonight.

Leicester will at least 3 drop points within their next two games, I'm very confident of that. I'd bet on them picking up just 1 point personally.

It's all about whether United can stop shitting the bed when top 4 is in sight.
Win the next 2 and we'll get it done IMO

Palace won't be easy at all. But if we play the way we have of late we should win. Heck we almost won last night but for the last minute. Would have continued a great streak. Importantly our defence and midfield have to turn up. I'm more confident of our attack putting anybody to the sword right now given the right service.

Expecting to go on a 8 match winning run with game every 3 day was too much, there was always going to be some dropped points. We will beat Palace comfortably if our midfield just decides to turn up, Forwards are on a good scoring run.

Don't see us beating Leicester away either. So we need to win the next 2 I think
Leicester are done. They have capitulated and are missing key players. I imagine we will be infront of them before the last day and probably just need a draw to confirm the top 4 but will win anyway
