is Eric hurt today? Bailly clearly the much better fit next to Maguire. Why is OGS not making that change?!Because he's our first choice CB alongside Maguire?

Very true and that's where the frustrations really come from is his decision making/temperament. Just the understanding that he cannot just force everything with or without the ball and can impact the match in other ways for the benefit of the team aside from a clear goal or assist. Those are the consistent differences between very good players to top players who win. Because he's been a light of positive from an individual standpoint the past 5 years or so, everyone has just wanted him to become this bonafide superstar immediately and not ride out the ups and downs of young stardom. He has shone bright during the hiatus. If his decision making on the pitch improves also, he will be the superstar everyone is clamoring for.
There are signs, I would say from the anfield game onwards, that he's overcome some kind of mental barrier. He's really starting to show maturity and ownership of his position at last.Shaw is a better passer (especially short passes) and has a better touch. He's also faster and stronger (although the latter is somewhat nullified by Williams being more aggressive).
Honestly, Shaw is probably better at everything except having the mentality to really drive forward. He's just too passive to make the most of how good he actually could be.
And Tottenham players aren't better than City's when it comes into unlocking defences as well. The game vs City didn't look like a match against Pep's team, it was really good to see them really struggling. It's very solid.
I rewatched the City game a couple of days ago, and we looked almost impenetrable... granted, our creativity wasn't great and we were helped significantly by City shitting the bed. But it's a formation that provably works against big teams.
The only caveat is that McTominay/Fred/Matic are the only players of capable of playing in the disciplined way that we've set up the last few games. I don't see how Pogba can possibly do the same job. Even his World Cup performances wouldn't translate to the job that the other 3 have been doing this year.
Ole will need to balance up the risk versus the reward of playing a hyped up Pogba-Bruno axis, versus a much more proven Fred-McTominay double pivot. I keep flipping between the two options in head.
If I had to guess, I think we'll start with Fred-McTominay and keep it tight while we check to see what Tottenham have got up their sleeve. If it's nothing, we'll bring on Pogba. But if they look consistent a threat, we'll carry on sitting deep and countering. You can't un-concede after an early goal, but you can score after a quiet start. Logically, that's the only approach that makes sense because Spurs are a relatively unknown quantity after the extra long break.
Not sure. We're 7th and 8th in the Premier League for average possession - both sides are better on the counterattack.I expect Jose to allow United to have a lot of possession. Pogba and Greenwood are great in possession so should start, imo.
Can you really not figure it out?is Eric hurt today? Bailly clearly the much better fit next to Maguire. Why is OGS not making that change?!
Nope, only Phil and Axel were reported injured a couple days ago.Can you really not figure it out?
Lindelöf is better.Nope, only Phil and Axel were reported injured a couple days ago.
True, but Spurs are nowhere near the class of those clubs.Seems to be Solskjaer's preferred system against similar/superior strength sides - we've used it three times in the League since January, against Liverpool, Chelsea and City.
Here we go, the experts have arrived. We've had boring Brexit,Covid19 but....is Eric hurt today? Bailly clearly the much better fit next to Maguire. Why is OGS not making that change?!
are you saying that he gained some muscles, pace and some spine during the C-Break?Lindelöf is better.
Don’t think so it’s on Sky main event, although Norwich v Southampton is free on Sky one.. right now.Is this on free tv anywhere?
Unfortunately not.Is this on free tv anywhere?
If this holds true then I kick of Covid19: The $eason of Greed; with a perfect 11.
The problem is that Bailly is far too inconsistent. He can have great games, but then he'll turn around and have an absolute shocking one the very next match. Or even within the same match he'll have both great and terrible moments.are you saying that he gained some muscles, pace and some spine during the C-Break?
his superior combination of size&athleticism can offset his inconsistencies as he can make up for some of his mistakes with them. While Lindelof is just too slow and weak to compensate for his inconsistencies. The problem is that Bailly is far too inconsistent. Lindelof isn't great, but he's the most consistent of all our remaining options. And consistency is one of the most important attributes for a central defender.
Yeah, we get that. Fortunately, though, you’re not the manager.his superior combination of size&athleticism can offset his inconsistencies as he can make up for some of his mistakes with them. While Lindelof is just too slow and weak to compensate for his inconsistencies.
I would pick Eric over Victor every day of the week
No more so than Bailly has suddenly developed a brain.are you saying that he gained some muscles, pace and some spine during the C-Break?
Demonstrated succinctly by Luiz yesterday.his superior combination of size&athleticism can offset his inconsistencies as he can make up for some of his mistakes with them. While Lindelof is just too slow and weak to compensate for his inconsistencies.

Sky pick i think? Is this on free tv anywhere?
so now Bailly is like Luiz?? if so, please show anything from Eric that resembles to any of Luiz's "gaffes"No more so than Bailly has suddenly developed a brain.

Least I'm consistentLiving up to that title you earned. Well in.
Only when Phil Jones is in the starting lineup. Good change he'll have to be subbed before kickoff.I always feel like the match starts from the moment the lineups are released. 10 minutes to go till then. Can't wait.
He's no more like Luiz than Lindelof is like a great supine protoplasmic invertebrate jelly. Both have weaknesses, but let's not overstate it.so now Bailly is like Luiz?? if so, please show anything from Eric that resembles to any of Luiz's "gaffes"
