I'm the only one with the feeling that Greenwood will come on and bag at least one?

Pogba and Bruno lining up alongside one another at CAM would put too much pressure on the sole DM, and he'd get overrun when faced with a competent midfield.

The setup could work with Pogba deployed in a box-to-box role, I guess, but that limits his creative output somewhat.
Well he better get used to it because Bruno is our new AM. It needs to be trialled but whether Spurs are the best team to do that against is to be debated. We were in good form prior to Covid with the team looking balanced. Pogba will also be lacking match fitness. Being s substitute today wouldnt be unreasonable moreso than the rest of the team.

It's crazy how differently I view our forward line-up with Bruno in there, it's almost feels like we made 3 new signings.

The leaked team is sadly quite negative. Hope it’s not true, or we could be looking at a very tight cautious game of football.

Almost in all big games we have played 3-5-2 (latest was home win vs City), so we might stick to same formation with Shaw as LCB, Williams as wing back. Pogba to come on as a sub later in the game.
That's likely due to our best midfielder out injured. Admittedly, some of our best results have come when we've played the system you suggest against the top teams.

Given our squad depth, and obviously provided we don't get a rake of injuries, I think we'll make top 4.

The lack of a home crowd pushing the lesser teams on should stand in our favour as well.
We've had our greatest falls when we've had hope. Let's hope this isn't one of those false dawns.

    I'm expecting a back 5. Something like:

    De Gea
    Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    AWB - Pogba - Matic - Williams
    Bruno
    Martial - Rashford

Have gone for a 2-2 draw.

Yeah, that's a valid reason. Would love to see Bruno, Pogba, Martial, Rashford all starting together.

Feeling positive, let’s hope we have prepared well!

I’m going 1-2 to us, at worst 1-1, I don’t think we lose tonight.

It is a lot of effort to change for something that is likely only temporary plus Niall really wants Samid to win the lineup prediction league for a change
Samid can have an asterisk then :)

Mourinho sent-off in the 75th minute after Paul Pogba thumbed his nose when Jose offered him his hand when he was waiting to come on as a substitute, and Jose took a swing at him but missed knocking out the assistant Referee to much merriment.

Spurs don't deserve the respect a 343/3412 suggests like City or Chelsea, they have some great players back but we can go toe to toe with them. Really hoping we don't go conservative with something like that.

Obviously hoping for the muppet lineup:
    -------------DDG--------------
    AWB-Bailly-Maguire-Shaw
    --------Matic-Pogba
    Mason-Bruno-Rash
    -----------Martial

but it will predictably be something more like...

    -------------DDG--------------
    AWB-Lindelof-Maguire-Shaw
    --------Fred-McTominay
    James-Bruno-Rash
    -----------Martial

    2 - 2 (Son, Lucas - Martial, Bruno pen)

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    Fred - Matic
    Bruno - Pogba
    Martial - Rashford
Easy 2-0. Bruno & Pogba to run the show.

Good to have football back. Our team is so stacked when everyone is fit. I can’t believe we are in 5th as this team should be challenging for the title. Nevertheless, I expect the individual quality of our players to show today, even if our gameplan is wrong. Looking forward to this game

Should be a tight match which most matches are when you have big teams playing after a lengthy break.

Spurs have their main guys in Kane, Son, Sissoko, Lloris.

Playing away against LASK will have been a good mental experience for United but after the 3 months away, hopefully United can show more match sharpness than Spurs.

As someone said in another thread, United have yet to beat a Jose Mourinho team away from home. I'd be content with a draw, however that reduces United's margin for error even more for the remaining 8 league matches. 7 wins from the next 9 matches would put them in great position for CL qualification regardless of what Chelsea does.

I think Ole will start with pretty much the team we had before the break with Rashford slotting straight back in. I can’t decide whether Pogba will start or not, if he does it’ll be in place of Fred I think. I’d certainly expect to see Greenwood on for James at some point or may even start ahead of him and maybe Ighalo on for Rashford later on as well.

It’s gonna be a tough game but I’ll be optimistic and say 2-1 or 3-1 United! :)
