With this investment, anything less than winning both will be a huge failure imo. He spent the most of any manager last season, to improve an already very good squad. Now he's rumoured to be spending another 300m. That's nearly half a billion he spent himself on improving a team that was already one of the best attacking sides in the league before he arrived.

If this has proved anything though, it's that Pep is nothing special. He's a very good manager like a lot of others around, surely not some miracle worker as some made out.
Also add the fact that despite signing a gk from barcelona he now needs another one. This is simply a failure in management for me.

City's transfer window is like the jokes we make on here about how we should just buy over an entire club to get all their players

One I think we should be on. Bit of a Mamadou Sakho except far superior, Mourinho was after him while Mangala was at Porto and though he may not fit the centre-back-playmaker role required of him at Manchester City there's an outstanding out-and-out defender Mourinho could coax out of him at a miniature price.

They can't win trophies so they're just going to buy every player from every team so they have no competition.

Not sure why people are laughing at Pep. That Monaco side is full of brilliant players that would plug so many holes in their squad, and ours actually. It's hardly a surprise he seems interested in half of their team.

They have the money, why not try? Do you think any fecks should be given just because they're all from the same team?

I would be absolutely delighted if I knew United were strongly targeting Mendy, Fabinho and Mbappé.

Mbappe needs space to exploit, teams sitting deep would provide hell lot of those,IMO Pep yet to learn his lesson.Depending on ageing Kompany going to cost him, have they been linked with any defenders yet?

Mangala was woeful at City. Brainless isn't harsh when it comes to him.

Jose is not a miracle worker.

Mendy is the only concrete one from what I've seen. I don't think there are many defenders who will look good in Pep's system, he leaves them for dead. He'd need the world's best defenders or they'll continue to struggle there imo.

They usually don't have to defend because they dominate so much of the ball, but as has been shown, when he can't do that, they are exposed.

Mourinho doesn't stick around in Monaco for the Grand Prix. Perhaps he went there for other reasons..

How many centre backs have thrived at Manchester City? It was a big ask for a 23 year old to go straight into their team and slip in seamlessly, especially with Kompany injured most of the time and having a certain Alexander Kolarov on his left hand side to think about covering all the time.

He's done well enough at Valencia for them to want to keep him, if he comes here you can be sure Jose will take his brain away (not that I'd agree he's brainless anyway) and train him to death to make sure he stays in position and takes advantage of his many, incredible, positive attributes.

So he was only there for qualifying and the pre-GP yacht parties. Cheeky Jose.

This ain't happening.

He's a poor defender and his level would be Newcastle like clubs.

And Valencia struggled this season on top of that.

That's true it's speculation. But there haven't been many tweets in recent pages, just a lot of whining.
No worries. Genuinely had no clue and have understood the reason although rather speculative and doesn't say much if anything at all.

They're on the ban list.

Edit: It's from Ballack's instagram. Never mind.

Does anyone even read the OP?

"As usual, please don't post anything from clear BS accounts, click bait tabloid accounts, or obvious aggregator sites (Utdreport etc) who know feck all."

Thread cleaned up a bit. Those sorts of accounts always fabricate some quotes to get more followers. There's a reason we don't tend to allow them to be posted. Only post them if they have a link to source included (they never do).
