I think it's because werew not targeting the flashier positions personally. It's much easier to build hype over a new striker or winger coming in. When you're talking about a young RB or a CM with potential to improve it's harder to get as excited.

Still those are the positions that need strengthening and I'm all for it. I'd rather we address our needs than go and splash the cash on more big names in areas we don't need.
I’m in exactly the same boat, I would actually be quite happy if all we did was bought 3 new defenders.

It doesn’t need to be flashy names, but when you find out that your manager is attending a Russia v Austria game and he might be interested in golovin and Arnautovic, it’s hard to think he’s doing anything other than looking at players who will play his style and be loyal to him. They are so far from the quality we need to compete next season.

I’d take our entire transfer budget and spend it on Alex Sandro, Fred and alderweireld, and then just hope that this kid from Porto fulfils his potential very early.

Right now from what I can tell, all things point to our defence being 75% the same as it was last season and that’s just not on.

It seems we are targeting defenders though, and much like last season I expect Jose has given Woodward his list of targets for this summer and we'll be working on bringing them in. I don't think him attending Austria v Russia will have much to do with our transfer plans for this summer. Maybe Golovin is a future prospect he is looking at for January or next summer.

I don't think we'll go into next season with the same defence either, Alderweireld will move this summer, despite what Levy is currently valuing him at. We've probably cooled off the idea for a few weeks and will return later. He already knows the league so a full preseason with us isn't as essential, as say for someone like Fred.

Is it just me or is this shaping up to be a depressing summer for us versus our competitors?
Huh? What? I’m actually quite happy to see that we’re linked to Dalot and Fred (deals in the offing?) and Alderweireld (can we get rid of the Chuckle Brothers now?). Links to Sandro are very welcome too. All areas crying out for upgrades. The names are also of players with technical skill and age on their side.

Leaves only RW and here, I’ll trust Jose. Anything besides is just a bonus! You may be disappointed that we’re not linked with Lewa, Ronaldo and Neymar, but I’m quite happy about that. The Bale rumours should also disappear now I reckon since Zizou has left. Let’s see how it pans out as it’s early days, but I don’t see why we should think anyone at all has stolen a march over us.

He’s not worth that amount. He’s no more than a 65m player currently
Unfortunately market is bonkers and with man united tax we are going to see average players sold for to us for 50-60m. Seeing his potential and our offer, my feeling was that it's little bit on the higher side but we're getting a solid player. Now I feel we should never go back to them again

True, I for one am very happy with the players we have been linked to, we are going to have proper FBs on both flanks after 5+ years that alone is a relief for me.
Add Alderweireld + Fred and another young CM with potential like the Barella kid and a RW and I'll be very happy.
If we can get Bale or Griezmann for the RW that's a bonus but if we get a proper RW, I'll be more than happy. Not really interested in paying Real 100 million plus for Bale so that they can go and buy Neymar

You'd like that wouldnt you. :D
If he wants to return to Atlético, they could make a £40m profit or so and end up with a goalkeeper as good or even better than Oblak, if they sell Oblak to us, I'm fine with that as well :D

This would be brilliant news for United. A young brilliant GK to Madrid and they should hopefully leave DDG alone forever! Then we just need to concern ourselves with Barcelona taking an interest or Atletico coming into some money

Aren't Liverpool linked with Butland? Leno might be another name that Klopp would likely bring to Anfield.
Butland and Leno would be nice. Both are talented, but not on the top level yet. Leno could massively step up like Ter Stegen or fail, hard to predict. Leverkusen bought Hradecky from Frankfurt, so i assume Leno is definitely on the move this summer

✔ @OfficialSSLazio has definitively refused an offer of the @ManUtd per #MilinkovicSavic 91M € + 14M € Bonus + 10% on the future resale (the commissions amounted to 12m €)
Ffs I got excited with the ticks and thought it was good news. At least one bonus of looking at tweets in different languages means you can pick up some words here and there :lol::lol:
