We dont sell young talented players after one year. He has shown some promise, it has to be bullshit
I hope so. He has obvious talent and while his defensive game is fairly poor he can improve on that with time. Not many defenders at his age are great in their positioning skills. We just happen to buy a bit of a prodigy in this aspect but Dalot should be given time.

Can only see us signing Fernandes if Pogba leaves so not really getting the links. Unless Ole has ideas to play he or Pogba deeper.
Honestly, these reports are built on nothing but the Portuguese press relentlessly trying to create a market for the player.

I don’t believe for a second we have any interest in the player.

If he'd pick any other top club to move to as a 19 year old he'd not be expecting to get as much game time as he did with us in his first season, on the count that big clubs usually have a clear first choice before they acquire young talents to be back ups. We've barely had any players on that right side for years, only Valencia who was only barely a fullback. That is why we went and bought a right back now, not to sell and replace a 19 year old we bought last year.

Dalot plays on the left back too, and not forget he had a lot of games on the wing as well last season, he was preferred on the wing in some games to bigger names like Sanchez and Lukaku. Pretty cool for a 19 year old fullback in his first full professional season. I'd imagine he is not distraught from the thought of a huge club like United looking to be strengthening in the transfer window. ;) He'll not be "stuck" here, if he plays better than his competitors he will be a first choice like every other player who deserves it, if he is not good enough and plays back up he will not be first choice anywhere else most likely.
I don't understand what you are trying to say at the end there. If he isn't good enough to be first choice at United he won't be first choice anywhere else? I am either misunderstanding you or that's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. Obviously a player can be good enough to play first team football at some clubs but not at others and there's a pretty good chance that will apply to Dalot and United.

I'm led to believe the same thing.

I do; however, believe the Longstaff links, but we need a specialist defensive midfielder, in my opinion.

Like the 340k extra tickets you sold due to playing at Wembley?

You wages are half of ours, £100mill less than Arsenal
I know it’s not the point, but surely the jokes on us paying double the wages of a team that’s clearly better than us.

I like Dalot in the same way I liked Rafael. If he trains on - which Rafael didn’t really, for various reasons - on he’ll be a very good player. But he’s a young player and his flaws are there for all to see. I think he’d be a liability over the course of a season if he did start as our first choice RB. Right now AWB is a much superior player.
Rafael had a season where he was the best RB in the league, and was always there and thereabouts in the discussion when he was fit the other seasons. Dalot has a long way to go to even get there.

Hopefully now we got Wan Bissaka we can start working on Bruno deal given we can't work on 2 transfers in the same time.

Not solely Portuguese press though. Ducker has said we're in for him.

You've just spent nearly 50 million on another guy in his position! It's not the biggest sign of confidence.
True, but Ole had been deploying him as an attacking option on the right later in the season. I'd be surprised if he was sold. I think he's seen as versatile.

Is Dalot really that elite as a talent? I don’t see it really.
Not remotely an elite talent.

He's nothing more than a decent prospect, as young defenders go maybe a half step ahead of Fosu-Mensah and a long way behind Tuanzebe. But obviously shouldn't be shipped while we have Young, Jones, Rojo and Darmian stinking up the place.

Dalot got skinned to Mars and back on a consistent basis last season. It's not surprising he's linked to be off severely overrated by fans.

I would be happy to see Dalot go, he’s hideously overrated here. I’d argue that if Ole had Fosu-Mensah last season, raw and inconsistent as he is, he would have been first choice because both Young and Dalot were abysmal.

Context. Off course we are going to reward a young academy product, a regular first team starter, our second best goal scorer (if we sell Lukaku), a regular NT starter and probably one of the main faces of our club a very good deal t. If the contract includes his images rights then £250k/w is reasonable and well in line with his status.

It’s a good thing he earns more then Harry Kane, it shows the difference in size and status between our clubs, Our best players should always be top of the PL income list. That's important I’d we are going to advertise us as one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Even City and Liverpool don't pay that much.... And it's not like Rashford has achieved much to deserve those wages.

Whats relevant then is if the player flops here or not, which is up to himself. If he backs himself to make it at United, then outperforming Wan-Bissaka or possibly Shaw in the longterm is the requirement anyways as it always will be like that at big clubs. The signing doesn't change the perspective for Dalot. If he had no ambitions and just wanted to play first team football at whatever level he'd just stayed in Portugal.

But he is just 19, the talent is obviously there and can be improved upon.

Dalot is a decent player, however I honestly don't think he's going to make it here. Too many flaws for my liking. I'll like to keep him but if he leaves I won't care much either.
