Why shall Bayern care whom to sell him? If the money comes from Man Utd - it’s still the same money, and they will agree all the sameDon't buy for a second that we are actually in for Thiago, clearly being used to hurry up Liverpool
It's a myth like so many other things related to Bayern. Sane's on €17m a year there.Oh right ok. I had some notion in my head about German clubs and their low wage bills that clearly wasn't based in reality.
Shock move for a clubless player?Tweet

Nah, Bayern isn't paying record breaking transfer fees, but the player salaries are competitive with the richest european clubs.Oh right ok. I had some notion in my head about German clubs and their low wage bills that clearly wasn't based in reality.
Feels good to have gotten a player wanted by both Madrid and Barcelona.Tweet

Interesting story. Key highlights-
- VDB had agreed a contract with Madrid only for the club to back out due to COVID-19
- Spurs and Barca were in for him
- Bergkamp, van der sar, Daley Blind spoke to him about joining United
- Final piece of jigsaw was Ole convincing him on his role
- Judge seems to be getting good at negotiations
Ah OK. Thought I was finally losing my mind.
Yea, strange. I just “replied” - sorry for inconvenience @nokillingmoths
When he says the "rumour is not hot", to me that says he doesn't expect anything to happen with this. Obviously it can all change very quickly but there really isn't a lot of noise around this from reliable journalists.Nothing clear here. It only means that we haven’t yet submitted a formal bid. Yet

How much do people think he'd cost if he were sold this summer? I've heard he fell out with the Munich manager and is frustrated at not playing more regularly this season?Tweet

Probably doesn't score enough goals for your liking. I agree 'an excellent season' is pushing it thoughWe have a curiously low bar for Fred. A couple of good games and he has had 'an excellent season'
Nope, they just say reports in Germany. It's not a great article tbh, seems to suggest VDB is a Grealish, Maddison and Sancho alternative?!Anyone with access to the full article? Do they acknowledge that the clause isn't effective until next year or is it just lazy journalism?
People reset their expectations on him because of how indescribably poor he was in his first season. Even with that though, I think he's currently a bit over rated by some fans.We have a curiously low bar for Fred. A couple of good games and he has had 'an excellent season'
The guy cost over 50 million quid, he should be a dominant player

I agree. I don't hate him, but I wouldn't mind seeing him go for the right price either. With DVB in the team, I don't think he'll play much.We have a curiously low bar for Fred. A couple of good games and he has had 'an excellent season'

That's an incredibly low fee for someone who has scored 18 + assisted 18 goals in his last 44 BL appearances (his record under Bosz).Tweet

Because Liverpool can get him for free in a few months time. Creating a bidding war - even a manufactured one - is a ploy to get Liverpool to meet the asking price. They want the fee reduced with the threat of pulling out and getting him free. It's a game of brinkmanship. Why shall Bayern care whom to sell him? If the money comes from Man Utd - it’s still the same money, and they will agree all the same
But if Man Utd really wants the player, it’s a different caseBecause Liverpool can get him for free in a few months time. Whilst I appreciate the playground insult, nobody in their right mind puts Fred in the City, Liverpool or Chelsea midfield so why exactly should he be starting the first game of the season for us?You should start watching football on the telly instead of Wikipedia. Thank me later.
Bayern’s highest earners (Lewandowski, Müller, Neuer etc.) are said to be on up to €18m gross p.a. which would be a bit over £300k pw.Oh right ok. I had some notion in my head about German clubs and their low wage bills that clearly wasn't based in reality.
€15m is a great price. He played a key role for Bayern in winning the treble last season and, clearly, still has a lot to offer. Perisic along with Gnabry, Sane and Coman are proven, quality options to have in wide areas. You have to envy Bayern for putting their team together so efficiently and so cost effectively.Tweet

Huge Thiago fan but our priorities are hopefully Upamecano and Sancho,so if we can get them over the line somehow (big ask I know) then not overly fussed about anything else.Tweet

This is the guy Falk is quoting, he makes it very clear we aren't really in for him
12 million pounds is fantastic value. We were quoted 50 just 2 years back. If anyone ever needed an example of Man United tax.Tweet

I know we could do with LB competition for Shaw and ideally a Matic replacement but see them as the priorities for next summer.
Well we keep hearing from some journos that a striker is in our priority list and then there is that constant chatter on Radio/TV about how we need a proper number 9 as wellAgreed.
I’d say we also need a cover for Martial as well for next season.
Well the City manager literally tried to put him in the City midfield, and he’s been better than Keita who was bought same time as him - and is not inferior to the others either. He’s also had a better season than Kanté. He should be starting the first game for us for the reason I mentioned earlier - he’s been one of the best midfielders in the league this season. Or a more palatable answer, he started our last football match and played extremely well.Whilst I appreciate the playground insult, nobody in their right mind puts Fred in the City, Liverpool or Chelsea midfield so why exactly should he be starting the first game of the season for us?
When he was brought on board on loan, it looked like a panic move, but he has turned out a reliable option. For 12-15 million, I'm all for signing him permanently.Tweet

Agreed, Rice and a LB should be the key focus next summer assuming we get Sancho to fill RW.Huge Thiago fan but our priorities are hopefully Upamecano and Sancho,so if we can get them over the line somehow (big ask I know) then not overly fussed about anything else.

Yeah they were saying Martial isn’t good enough and they have clearly not watched us play last season.Well we keep hearing from some journos that a striker is in our priority list and then there is that constant chatter on Radio/TV about how we need a proper number 9 as well
