AM need to sell Tripp at a good price followed by buying new RB this window or they won't be able to play 4 at the back. They haven't made much in sales, and their financial situation is that they need to sell before being able to buy.

I saw AM's RB Arias at PSV. He's terrible. He went on loan at 28, so can consider him a flop. Vrsaljko is a bit of a crock and played wing back exclusively last season. AM always play 3 at the back when Tripp's not available.
Fair enough, maybe we could agree cash plus Dalot loan/perm.

We have been trying for years and he has consistently underwhelmed with the odd spell of good form. What convinces you he would be better than lukaku who was good consistently for west brom, everton and inter
I think he has more in his locker. When Martial has been really purring and in form, he is a level above anything I have seen from Lukaku. As you've noted, we just don't see it enough.

I feel like in Serie A, which is a lesser league, and the main man for a team, he would produce that a lot more.

Yeah. What a waste

Even if he went to city (which i am glad he hasn't) I would at least respect the decision to try a competitive league. PSG is the easy, boring option. Can see why Ramos, 35 and Messi, 34 have done it, I guess. It's just a shame.
Just so boringly predictable.

I'm not sure where he would even fit in the first team? These links have been there for two weeks, but I don't get it unless he is going out on loan?

Wow just when i thought our tabloids couldn't get any worse. One of them mentioned in BBC football gossip have linked Spurs with a move for Messi
No they didn't. Not in the Gossip column anyhow. They definitely say Messi is going to PSG. This (below) is exactly what they said:
Tottenham have been linked with Barcelona's Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho, but a move for the 29-year-old would hinge on Spurs selling England striker Kane

If I wanted to be a passive supporter, I'd support my local amateur team instead, where nothing really matters aside from cheering on the lads. But I get angry because I'm a passionate supporter and I want the best for my team. When we drag our feet over things like Pogba's future, offer bums new contract and then struggle to sell them, yeah, it's pretty annoying.

Re Pogba, there's one question for him, "Do you want to sign an extension or not?" Not later in the month, not in January when he can sign a pre-contract with another club, now. If not, then au revoir. If a straight transfer isn't viable, then offer him to clubs like Madrid on a swap deal. Even if we swap at a loss in value, it's better than letting him walk for nothing next summer. Pogba taking his sweet time to decide what he's doing is disabling us from getting our business done, allowing PSG to take advantage. Plus, I'm sick of his agent mouthing off. Maybe he'd be somewhat tolerable if Pogba lived up to his potential, but I don't think the whole package is worth it.
United can't say au revoir to Pogba.
  • He has a contract with us.
  • No one wants to pay a reasonable fee for him,
  • He only wants to go to big clubs who are either currently skint (Real) and miserly (PSG)

Even if martial plays in a lesser league he will just coast and put even less effort in

A 27 year old who can't get a game for Bayern? I can't imagine we'd really be interested.
Tolisso. Dalot alternative?

No. My mistake. He's recently been playing central midfield. He had 81 minutes for Bayern last season but far more time, internationally, for France. So is he our bargain basement midfielder?

If Abraham was at United he would be afforded another season or two at the club, as an academy graduate, before being sold for a third of the price. It is part of United's identity to allow academy graduates time and space to develop. Chelsea, Liverpool, and a few others are quite ruthless at selling when the price is highest. There are a few examples.
I agree. He would also likely be on £100K/week minimum at Utd making him difficult to sell for decent money.

Tolisso is a very good player but also very injury prone. I'm not sure he's worth the risk given our luck with injuries.

I'm gonna defend United a bit here. You're right we would do that, but thats because we genuinely want to develop players and want them to succeed with us - because we're a football club and not merely a human trafficking company dealing in footballers.

On the flip side, if we were more like Chelsea, I would have absolutely hated that I could have had KdB, Salah and Lukaku for free and ended up spending 100 million to be able to have the worst of those 3 play for us after they came through our academy. On the balance sheet you might think Chelsea did good by selling them all, but I don't agree.

Not sure which translating service you used but they got it exactly wrong

"Under no circumstances for less than 10m", it says. Still far too little, honestly. But then, so is 18m € for Sabitzer

Well was thinking he could be somewhere inbetween McFred and Kimmich/Goretzka
I rated him highly when he joined Bayern from Lyon and I think he has had better seasons at Bayern than either of McFred have so far for United but on current form (probably due to injuries) he's honestly not better than what we already have. I hope the supposed interest from United is just some wild made-up rumour.

Hehe. Well you did fine, you just forgot to include the qualifier "Auf keinen Fall" before the "under 10m"

Tolisso is a really good player anyway, and it would be a steal, it's just he's always injured.

Translation:

The rumours initially started because Ribery commented on a Lothar Matthäus Instagram post stating that he wouldn't mind returning to Bayern Munich.

40 mil euros for Tammy would be Roma's second highest transfer fee ever. I'm sure, the deal is structured so that Roma only pay Chelsea a small amount over the next 3 years and Roma trying to offload him again to some English club by then. Even considering that, this deal smells of shady dealings from Chelsea.

Previously, I thought Chelsea had a remarkable team (Iron lady ) to get crazy amounts for their unwanted players like Costa, and Morata; players wanting to leave like Hazard, and Oscar. Now I this Tammy deal makes me reconsider those past transfer dealings.
