1 month of window gone not a single CM signed. On the road to become one of the most shambolic summer windows. Not a single genuine striker in the club apart from 38 year old who wants to leave.

With the way things are going, this kind of post will be as good as it gets, even from top reds!

Fernando Polo has this to say about Frenkie de Jong:

This article mostly contains reminders. However, there is a bit of new info here and there (summarised here):

EDIT: Also covered here (thanks to @Rolaholic in the Frenkie de Jong thread)
No way he would choose the Blues over ETH and Utd.

My biggest source of concern for United is how your team is not being linked with any Plan B outside of Dutch league players. To put pressure on Barca/Ajax surely United would have sent out feelers to their Plan Bs, especially with one month remaining before the season starts. The agents of the Plan Bs would have surely leaked it to the media, to entice other clubs and put pressure back on United.
What are your scouts doing? What is your senior management doing? Why are you blindly listening to a manager who has never managed in a competitive league (Ajax have always been top dog and he didn't really pull up any trees with Utrecht either)?

You are probably going to need some patience. This is going to take a few years.

In today's social media age, especially with no other football tournament going on - its impossible for a team like United to conduct business quietly. Also agents have become more brazen in their attempts to generate interest in their clients.

The only thing that makes me consider De jong s deal stalling is the thought of swooping Maguire with him just to lower the price.
And in order to do that is to make the deal with Ajax for Lisandro Martinez.

Now next I believe it's 50/50 for Ronaldo to leave. First of all he was a big salary and no one in Europe on Ch.Lg level are considering to sign a 38 year old ....for ½ million per week.
If we give him the money he will stay without fuss . Either way someone really really stupid and in need ....will show up pay 15m + 15m wage at least for a 38 y.o.
If he leaves and there s money in the bank we will go for a Holding/ False 9 striker in ETH style with good attacking movement and positioning ( maybe Dybala cause he is free but with a ton of money due to Eu.Lg). If we don't have the money then i am guessing a CF like last year's Man City Foden ( Bruno).
I don't want to think a scenario were Martial,Rashford,Elanga, Shoretire(?) are trying their worst week to week between positions.

How many clubs have you managed?

Does it? It should be a really simple one barring the medical but it's gone awfully quiet
He accepted our offer 5 days ago and he still hasn’t been signed or joined the rest of the team on tour. Don’t know what’s holding that one up to be honest as there’s no fee to negotiate with a club and he’s already accepted what we’ve offered him.

If there ever was a time "simple" and "medical" should never be used in one sentence regarding football - clearly it should be with a player with Eriksens medical history. Rest assured that Eriksens medical is 5 times more thorough than any other footballer - and rightly so.

I'm not sure. We don't normally know how long it takes between a player telling a club verbally he will join them to when the deal is actually done. United clearly rushed to brief the media we got some good news in order to offset the Ronaldo news cycle.

Literally don't want to hear any complaining about signings once we get this one done.

Its always about the reserve GK. Now our transfer committee can rest easy. Champagne all round.

Convinced we just stockpile goalkeepers because they're cheap and easy to sign and the club gets to pretend it's doing something.
