Any contract offer to Varane would have to be along the lines of De Gea's offer. Close to halving his current wages.

Not a gamble you are willing to take?
Less so the gamble. More the profile. I wouldn't be prepared to pay £80m or whatever it would take to sign Toney, in order to bench Højlund. I'd much rather replace Martial with a young, hungry player who wouldn't necessarily expect to be the main main. Someone like Openda for example. Would provide good competition, without hopefully the entitlement and price tag.

From the sounds of things INEOS/Ratcliffe want to move away us from these type of signings. I'd love Toney but don't want to overpay either. Definitely going to be more due dilligence going forward (hopefully)
From the sounds of things this is the opposite of what INEOS are planning for the summer.

Planning for players in the last year of their contract. Which Toney will be & EtH wants him, so he’ll probably get him.

Where did you read ten hag wants him. Where did you read we will go for him? What makes you think we get him over other clubs that want him?

Feels like it would be an incredibly strange policy to buy a twenty year old for 60 million, go through the pain of playing him every game for six months when he can't score, to get him used to the prem and scoring goals regularly, only to then buy a player for 100 million in his position who has been previously banned for gambling addiction. Very concerning and if he is a ten hag target I would steer clear.

Mokbel & Whitwell, highly reliable.

I don't see this as anything major. Monitoring and having an interest is standard. We did the same thing with Rice in the summer.

If he turned out to be a priority target then sure. Find it unlikely though. I think we may move for him but won't show more than say Arsenal to get him.

Please don't offer him £300K a week. He's still a baby and has a fantastic future ahead of him, but I hope we don't offer him too much money, otherwise he might think he's made it and have no interest in developing.

Yeah that kind of money would be stupid

I like the current media narrative already. Sir Jim is a smart businessman. Going into every summer, we have always had a 100-200 Mn war chest narrative which has definitely been to our detriment as negotiating clubs and players take us to the cleaners. Woodwards diabolically stupid statements still come to mind.

This time around it’s all about tight finances due to FFP and not being able to spend a penny. Looking at players in the last year of contract, will avoid bidding wars etc etc.

Whether we’ll actually be skint remains to be seen. But the story suits our negotiating stance. Well done Sir Jim’s PR team.

Haven’t seen much of any of them but If I remember correctly:

Mastantuono and Subiabre are highly rated at River. Mastantuono is an attacking midfielder. Subiabre is a left footed winger, seems like he mostly plays on the right.

I’ve not heard of Parmo.

I think Anselmino has been scouted by Inter as well.

I don't know what he's on at the moment, but it maybe only £10/20K a week. So double it by all means and review again in 2 years. We must avoid 'spoiling' our players too young.

He's not going to leave United any time soon, surely.
He’s on £10k/week apparently. £50k/week sounds about right, on par with Garnacho, with the understanding that if he continues this progression he’ll be rewarded again in another couple of years.

Heinze, Veron, Di Maria orTevez?
Rojo and Romero
None of those mentioned were bad players. Heinze was a decent servant to the club, Veron was immense but just not right for us, DiMaria is a Ratface cnut but a good player - never wanted to be here though. Tevez is a talented turncoat treacherous elongated bastard, Rojo was clinically certifiable and Romero was the best reserve keeper in the history of football!

Rojo and Romero

Very mixed bunch was my point, they can be good players or they can have very questionable attitudes. Tevez happy to take money, not integrate into the culture nor learn the language, then join Ciddy. Di Maria just a cnut of a thing, Heinze trying to join the vermin.... Our current mob are very good, so hopefully any others will follow their lead....

In what way did Tevez not integrate into the culture? Did he not fancy a curry at the weekend?
