What's the point of getting a top manager if you don't back him in the transfer market or provide him with mediocre players year after year? No one can work wonders... The past season has probably made it clear to the owners that we could be able to compete for the title or other trophies if they get Klopp the players he wants. If they don't invest in the team this season, they never will.
I thought Klopp said he would rather quit football then spend lots of money?

Did Klopp threaten to leave unless they backed him this summer or something? Why are they suddenly willing to spend huge sums like the rest of the big boys?
It's because the PL cash is so huge now. We all have to pay the big bucks and the foreign clubs know this.

Hmmm. Did you watch the final month or so of the season? Barely conceded a goal. Approached games with attritional discipline. Won ugly several times. Team set up to be rigid. Hardly the plan A of pre-Christmas. Very different in fact.
You got top four as everyone else messed up.

Let's not be silly now.

Zidane-Mbappe, the conversation that changes everything. The Real is getting ready to part with one of its three stars.

Nah that's not really what he said, but you can interpret it whichever way you want of course.

Because over the course of the whole season, we were a better team than United and Arsenal, simple as that. In the PL, that is, before you bring out the trophy stats. Anyway this is not the place to discuss that.

Feel a bit sorry for Monaco. Bernardo gone, Bakayoko, Fabinho, and Mendy all heavily linked away, and the inevitable transfer of Mbappe. Back to irrelevance they go?

Mendy and Mbappe aside (who'll only leave for a world record fee), I think they were all planned to leave. Their transfer plan is similar to Porto so nothing to feel sorry about, they've already got replacements lined up except Mbapppe.

Love Van Dijk, but I liked the sound of us going after Bonucci better.

Ronaldo confirmed
Hope it's Ronaldo then at least, cause if it's Bale or... who's the third star? Benzema? He's not really a star. And let's not talk about Morata LOL. He's good, but he's not one of the 3 stars of Real Madrid.

Total guess from L'Equipe. I doubt anyone from that meeting has discussed anything with anyone. I think most likely is Mbappe agreeing a move after the World Cup and another year with Monaco is in everyone's best interests. One of BBC will move on next summer.

Not necessarily - they've already replaced Bakayoko and Fabinho with Tielemans (1997) and Soualiho Meïté (1994). Just the start of a new cycle so to speak, that's just how they operate. They can also heavily invest in the future with the Mbappe money of course.

Matic to Man Utd then! :D Our midfield of Pobga, Matic and Herrera would be absolutely quality
Yeah if Chelsea get him, I think Matic to United will escalate. Hopefully before the US Tour!

That midfield 3 looks tasty to me! Energy, power and steel!

Not taking that supposed big for Van Dijk seriously. I don't think there's a chance we'd big nearly €70m for a CB coming off a serious injury. Bonucci makes more sense because Conte knows him well and he's proven world class. VVD is a huge risk at that price.

Chelsea targeting some very good players this evening. Bakayoko, Alex Sandro and Van Dijk would improve them, plus Lukaku.

Just can't see him ever leaving Juve. Was the same saga last summer with him (City).
Definitely a very long shot, but the Conte factor and a serious increase in his wages may tempt him.

I'd reeeaally rather have Fabinho instead of Matic. Fabinho has good enough speed, skill, power and steel. It is the easiest transfer decision for Mourinho to make.

Agreed. These 4 signings would significantly improve us. Unfortunately, still haven't even been linked with what I and many Chelsea fans think are our biggest needs: a starting CM with creativity and an upgrade for Moses.

If we are to believe the rumours on who our targets are, it's difficult to see how we're going to close the gap on Chelsea and City. Our attack is already significantly weaker with the loss of Zlatan.

You think adding Ronaldo and Morata would be a step backwards ? Interesting.
