Could have been four English teams.

The Europeans hate us but there is no doubting the power of English football.

Would've preferred no English teams in the CL final

Are we back to loving our owners now?

This is the ultimate paradox of the English fan in the last two weeks. Hate the owners but then love to beat their chest because of the money they bring.

I was excited that Villarreal knocked Arsenal out so we avoid the w**kfest of “four English teams in the European finals!”.

Seems like a watered down version of it will still happen.

They didn't bring us money though, they allow us to spend a bit of our own money.

Never!

If anybody needs congratulating then the person who decide to bring back Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Mike Phelan and Solskjær for his management.

But in England we do play an aggressive style of football which the Europeans find hard to handle.

Our owners don’t bring us money, they take it out and lots of it.
Not United per say but more with regards to Chelsea and City's generation of all their money.

For us, you can't deny that under this leadership we have turned ourselves into a money churning machine with the aim of revenue generation. Woodward did a tremendous job getting sponsorships and money through those avenues.

We've turned into a corporation more than a football club over the past decade, though thankfully Ole is bringing the good vibes back with this attitude and the players supporting these causes as well.

Arsenal making it 4 would've been a better story line.

Eh. It's cyclical.

In the early 2000s it was Italy. In the mid 2000s to 2010 it was England. From 2011 to 2018 it was Spain. Now England's back on top.

Are Manchester United fans happy or disappointed that Arsenal lost to Villarreal?

On one hand, it would be good for English football if Arsenal won. On the other hand, Arsenal is still a rival and probably a tougher opponent than Villarreal.

Which one is it?

Old relics? United starting elevens have had an average age of just under 25 years old this season, third behind Brighton and Villa. This is not an ageing team, even with De Gea and Cavani skewing the average (and Cavani is hardly playing like a thirtysomething, is he?).

Not bothered at all to be honest, we're a bit of an imposter in the EL anyway - no way a club as big as us financially and who are second in their domestic league should be playing the likes of Granada, Socieded, Roma etc. There have been some big mismatches.

The thought of City winning the CL whilst we hoist the EL really really hurts.

A good question. Worth noting that Villarreal fielded 8 Spanish players in their starting line up today and of course they have a Spanish manager. They made it to the final of a major European competition on the backs of homegrown talent.

Arsenal meanwhile fielded 3 English players. They also had two Spaniards in their team and a Spanish manager.

PL clubs for the moment are on top (these things are generally cyclical), but if you’re English, where’s the pride in dominating if you can’t do it with mainly English footballers?

For United - Maguire, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka and one of Greenwood/Rashford will start. Don't expect Henderson to start despite being our Premier League Number 1.
For Chelsea - Mount and Chilwell. Azpilicueta will get the nod over James.
For City - Stones, Walker and Foden. Sterling will most likely be on the bench.

If only we can devise a way for the big teams to only play each other, and don’t have to come up against minnows like this. Some sort of league…just for the super teams like us.

Any United fan that’s happy that there is an all English final in the CL is a very strange person, I’m buzzing that Arsenal got knocked out of the EL.

There might be 4 Germans in the UCL final (Rudiger, Werner, Havertz and Gundogan). Having only 5 Englishman between two English teams is quite low to be honest (Bayern had 6 Germans themselves in the final last season).

United doing really well to maintain their English, and youth, core though. Always good to see.

That's fine but the point was being made across both finals hence my response. United themselves will likely have 6 involved and that's not counting British players like Mctominay or James.
