Never heard of him, hope he is good
Yes. His crossing isn't great but his link up and general attacking play is goodFew questions:
- can he play both flanks?
- has he any experience as wing-back?
- Is his final 3rd play being poor an exaggeration?
If he can play wingback, we may see Shaw at LCB as part of a 3 at times this season.
Is he not very good at attacking then? That’s a bit disappointingA LB who isn't very good at attacking is a strange buy when we don't have a starting RB, but interesting I guess.
Evra style? Works well with a good combination forward that. Sancho will be happy.Yes. His crossing isn't great but his link up and general attacking play is good
Absolutely not true, he’s as good going forward as any modern LB, his decision making needs work but he’s a menace to deal with, he gave Roma fits in the Conference final, they couldn’t handle him all game.Is he not very good at attacking then? That’s a bit disappointing
We're clearly prioritising CDM/CM the most hence De Jong. Also Shaw was injured for most of the season and Telles was probably our worst outfield player, so surely it makes sense to have someone who is a good backup? We've got half a dozen priority areas. LB and CAM aren't priorities so let's make Malacia and Eriksen our first signings. It's what Man Utd do.
Several reports are saying that we are monitoring the situation with Arsenal and Lisandro Martínez too. Maybe this whole swoop in once a fee is set is a new tactic.Murtough has been waiting for Feyenoord to agree a fee with Lyon so there is no Man Utd tax like it would have been if we had approached them first.
Murtough Madness is real!!
Every time Shaw has had competition at his position, he has improved his game markedly. First when Brandon Williams seemed to want to take Shaw's position, and then again when Telles was bought.Shaw is probably going to move to CB as Timber is supposedly prioritizing playing time for the Word Cup.
Or we have found a buyer for Telles.
Either way, I'm excited about this signing. Oranje Cafe.
When we were first linked with him the views from several Dutch posters and scout reports were that he's great defensively, has a tremendous engine, is very athletic and high energy, decent passer but awful at crossing and little final 3rd product, his videos are very similar to AWB.Is he not very good at attacking then? That’s a bit disappointing
Well first he’s not the finished product and second you don’t have to cross the ball like Trent to be an attacking fullback. Kyle Walker and Patrice Evra are two examples. Is he not very good at attacking then? That’s a bit disappointing
He turned up for training with a brown paper McDonalds bag in his handSo all it took for ETH was one training session with Shaw
There's a reason we're only paying €13m over 3 years. Is he not very good at attacking then? That’s a bit disappointing
That'd be hilariousI hear Lyon might need a new LB.
Never seen him play before the UECL final but some people say he's really good, others say he's not good enough for United. Strange signing for another 'prospect' when our current left back situation is probably the least pressing concern with Shaw, Williams and Telles on our books. Also why are we paying more when they agreed to sell to Lyon for 2m less and no sell on clause?Tweet

One training session to realise Shaws a top drawer left back and needs a good deputy. So all it took for ETH was one training session with Shaw
The post-Woodward era definitely feels different already. More professional, less publicity-hungry.And all of our deals are public protracted affairs, of course.
Structure of the deal might be more favourable to us? As in the "spread over three years" mentioned below.Never seen before the UECL final but some people say he's really good, others say he's not good enough for United. Strange signing when our left back situation is probably the least pressing concern. Also why are we paying more when they agreed to sell to Lyon for 2m less and no sell on clause?

Yes and no. They wanted €15 million OL would only give it to them with €13 million fixed and 2 in add ons. We are paying then €15 million fixed plus 2 add ons, yes its slightly more if they achieve the add ons but it negates any chance of a pick us or OL situation because OL will have to match us or miss out.Why are we paying more when they agreed to sell to Lyon for 2m less and no sell on clause?
I'd love us to sell Shaw and keep Telles as backup. Believe in this yuice.Wonder who will be first choice between him and Shaw?
Its done in such a serious way, its hilarious.id love to believe the quotes in this vid are correct
One paced and feckin uselessIt's great to hear he's super pacy. We need far more dynamism in the team. Serious upgrade on Telles who is totally one paced
we were led to believe that but I never saw it, I mean he scored that one volley but I thought we was getting a Roberto Carlos type left foot. Tbh I wouldn’t be arsed if either him or shaw left The club.Haven’t minded Telles. Yes he’s limited but he’s got a mean left foot. Decent back up. The only reason he’s had to be more than that is because of that half arsed Luke Shaw. He’s the one we should be cashing in on as I’m sure lots of clubs would pay up.
