So annoyed that people can go on about how much they love the nhs and continually vote to screw all of us who work in it over. Thanks I’ll continue to work in a living hell for the next 5 years trying to do my best in impossible conditions

This needs to be looked at from a left perspective- how do you tackle the media machine behind the two biggest papers in the country, one of which (in a truly Machiavellian sense) gets the poorest people to vote AGAINST their own interests. The echo chambers and meme culture aren't producing results if tonight is anything to go by.
I'm not sure how to tackle it in a legitimate way. Education perhaps, but that'll need a shift in policy that those in power will not seek.
More realistic is the need to think outside the box, play dirty, start now, manipulate.
Depressing.

Absolutely gutted and disappointed that a man that has made derogatory remarks about black people, religious minorities, women, poor people can win in such a landslide. And it's happening all over the western world. Its scary.
Blame telco's and social media platforms! social media gave a platform to the uncouth masses to spout their uneducated opinions.

Smart and cynical politico's like Trump, BJ and Modi understood this better than their more principled opposition and organised around them.

Keir Starmer is probably the Labour leader they need right now but not sure if he will be.
Sadly, have little faith in Labour’s selection process.

If they are to elect a female leader, it has to be for the right reasons.

Pretty much everywhere I've turned on social media, forums and social circles are fully against the Tories and Johnson.

How the hell are they getting a majority?
the demography of social media is far more likely to be anyone but Tories. You don’t see too many 65 year olds on Twitter - they will all be in bed by now!

furthermore, it’s the old adage if you have a bad experience you tell 10 people, if you have a good experience you only tell one. So for those who feel they have ‘lost’ tonight, they are far more likely to be posting about it than those who feel they have ‘won’.

We all thought it wouldn't happen here and laughed at the US when they elected Trump, but we are no different. It's a scary time to be a minority.

Tory gains in Labour heartlands could change the direction of Tory policy. If they want honour the faith shown in them by folk who have voted labour all their lives they will need to move to the left and strengthen their social policies.

Hate comments like that .would do better to take a look at why they voted elsewhere instead of being so bitter towards them
Yep, it's hardliners like him that have put people off Labour. Self righteous pricks.

What about on here then?

I know it's very small sample size but the poll here is so wildly different to what happening it seems and no one's manipulating things on this site.
The Caf is very left-leaning, it's one of the great things about it.

Social media is a bubble, in many ways, and really, so is most of the internet. The most active internet users are generally younger than the average, more urban than the average, have higher educatiin than average - these are all decent predictors of left-leaning political views.

Read Daily Mail comments to meet the other world.

The northern Brexit & Tory voters will ironically be the ones who will get the most screwed out of what they’ve voted for & I hope they do to be honest. Either stupid or been brainwashed I don’t really care anymore.

Can strongly remain places like London & Bristol stay in the EU?

Don’t hold your breath, there’s about zero chance of that happening.
