Good squad. Would love to see Gribbin and O'Connor there as well but you can't have everyone.

Working out the potential 2 different XIs:
Romero
Valencia - Smalling - Bailly - Shaw
Herrera - McTominay
Mata - Pereira - Gomes
Martial

Grant/Pereira
Tuanzebe - Williams - Darmian
Dalot - Hamilton - Garner - Mitchell
Greenwood - Bohui - Chong

Maybe it'll be more mixed between seniors and youths for both of the XI as the 2nd one looks too stopgap.

How long is extended break long? Two weeks, three? We might have players back few days before PL starts?! :(
Yep, pretty much. Usually length of time off is at the club's discretion. In Fred's case, even when he returns he may just return to a treatment and physio/fitness regime at Carrington as a result of the injury he sustained, depending on the severity (instead of joining the preseason tour).

Dalot had a pronounced limp in the video of players returning to Carrington for pre-season. He was on crutches earlier in the summer after a minor operation. I can't see him in any of Getty Images' pictures of training on friday. I would imagine he won't be involved in the early pre-season games, though may be fit for some of the later tour matches. Last year Mourinho took several injured players on the pre-season tour.

No sign of Romero in the pics from training on friday. He missed the World Cup through injury.

 I would like to apologise in Ban's name for the typo. He will never do it again. Promise.
And in his name also mine, thanks.

Jose said he'd like to give them atleast 3 weeks off. Already pretty much confirmed we'll be without Lingard, Pogba and Lukaku for the start of the season.

He’s been in holiday for the past 30 days with some light exercise.
That’s not how a holiday works. He has been on duty. Going to the World Cup as a squad member is not a holiday.

That's probably our best team, with only Valencia playing instead Dalot, mainly due to Dalot being an unknown quantity as of yet.

Shaw has played like 50 matches in 4 seasons, most of them he was shite tbf but he still manages to get into most people's dream XI  He should be shipped together with Darmian.

I remember last summer when they got to there training base in the U.S. Mourinho gave a press conference for the media and was asked about transfer targets etc. At the time he was talking about a certain Matic and hinting he wanted a fourth signing. Hopefully the same info giving regarding transfers, expecting a few meltdowns on the caf :) if not good news.

If he stay, he should have our support.
When he's on the pitch during a game yeah sure, off it is another story. He's a useless sack who in my opinion has had zero interest in playing for United for a long time now. Rarely looks like he could be arsed and when he does he's still shit.

The thing is the likes of Smalling and Jones in our squad are actually decent defenders but just not really up to the overall standard we should be aspiring to. Darmian on the other hand is just straight up rubbish. Ridiculous he’s still knocking about. The club needs to shift a lot of deadwood over the next few weeks otherwise we have major problems. We seem to accept far too much mediocrity at the club.
Yep, we need to stop asking ridiculous prices for him. I doubt anyone will be willing to pay more than 10-15m euro for him. Thats the reality of the situation United as a club seem to be having a hard time accepting.

Formation is perfect. Lukaku and Martial in their best positions. But Sanchez as number 10 is a worry for me. He gives the ball away too much to play in such a role. But let's see if this is tried next season.

Going to have to buy additional striker and zero width. Teams will just run past us on the flanks.

Lukaku will not make a full season playing in a two striker system. He’s 6’3, 210 asking him to do that much work over 50-60 games, you going to destroy him like Diego Costa. The guy could barely do it over a stretch of games for Belgium, he’s not going to be able handle the load for us.

Only problem with that and it's a major one is that that entire left flank would be exposed.

This place constantly tells us Shaw should be allowed to attack whilst Pogba and Martial shouldn't have to defend.

We'd be very dependent on out scoring the opponent as we'd get countered 6 on 6 a lot.

Romero is injured and will be for a while.

The End?
That’s a serious cock up by the club. Why didn’t we sort it out before preseason started?
Looks like it's an issue that's completely out of the club's hands and instead with the US. Can't exactly reschedule a whole tour to accommodate for one player either.

This is far from ideal, he really needs this pre season with us.
