Fairly mainstream opinion : Onana isn’t Fabrice Ondoa, or very good

Can’t believe some posters are suggesting DDG made as many blunders as this guy. Even at his worst, DDG cost as many goals a season as Onana has in four months.

Calling your own player clown, donkey etc. Would ban the lot of you.

Maybe I am just too old for this new clownish generation of football fans. All the brains rotted from too much social media.
How has this guy not been banned? The mask has slipped. He's an obvious WUM.

My new theory is that we've actually signed Everton's Onana by mistake and though he keeps insisting he's not a keeper, no one is taking him seriously.

Banned for what? Being against calling names and abusing your own players online? Are you that far gone you can't even grasp this?

You are right. It's unfair on clowns.

Nowhere near good enough, but it isn't his fault, the fault lies with the manager who ditched a better GK and brought in a dud.

I’d like to see us learn from past mistakes and bin this pile of smeg first thing in the summer for the best fee available, even if its a loss

Honestly it makes no fecking sense to me what's happened to Onana since joining. It's not even true to say he's always been a bad shot-stopper; he was at worst a fairly alright one at Inter.

It genuinely is almost like we just suck the talent out of players at this point.

If Inter will take him back for 20m, we should absolutely take it.

We needed to sign a new goalkeeper. Problem is we signed a worse one than what we had.

Good thing he’ll be away for the African Cup of Nations because there’s no other way Ten Hag is dropping him.

He was a well known clown for anyone that watched more than just highlight reels.

Nobody is going to take Onana on, no doubt he's on very big wages and a lengthy contract who will be happy to run it down like so many other players over the years.

Good luck improving the rest of the team next summer with half of the already restricted budget needing to go towards another keeper. Well done to everyone involved - especially those the writers of those massive essays about the effect of a ball-playing keeper.

De Gea wasn't the answer... but neither is Onana by the looks of it.
Well, at this point it’s certainly clear to everyone that we’d both be a better team and 50 million richer if we had retained DDG on lower wages.

Onana is going to cost us big time. Was just about gaining a little confidence in his ability but nop. Got to go ahead and make a clown mistake

Nobody said we should sign a ball-playing keeper that’s crap at everything else.

i get the stuff about modern keepers but he isnt a keeper.

he's essentially looking like an outfield player playing in goal. You may as well have a pop from 30 yards against him as it’ll probably go in or be palmed straight to your centre forward for a tap in. This isnt form its his game. He isnt going to ‘come good’.

Diogo Costa from Porto was our favourite for a while then we changed tact & went for Onana why?
so we could waste 54 million on an ETH favourite then watch chelsea or someone sign costa and him be a worldie

If you think we will replace him just because you knee jerkely think he is somehow a bad keeper even with proof of past seasons where he was great, you are deluded. He is staying, as he should.

It's ironic how the guy who played in the CL final last season has been a large reason why we're looking like crashing out of it.
