Awful ‘goalkeeper’. We would have qualified today if not for all his errors through the group phase.

league form is getting better but holy hell ive never seen a keeper cost us more in the group stages cost us more.

On a serious note, I really dislike an unreliable GK. Loved Van Der Sar above everyone else because he was just so reliable. You never had to worry about him

Onana's been statistically the best keeper in the league according to the 'whoscored' metrics, for what it's worth. He had some terrible moments today but he's been pretty good the last few matches when we needed to grind results out (as well as the halfway line turns). The bigger issue is with how the manager sets up in terms of approach and personnel, as opposed to laying it on one player - for instance, I don't want McT starting any games anytime soon unless it's an emergency, but wouldn't blame the lack of midfield control entirely on him either.
Onana did great last year. Not so much this year. Very disappointing so far and unexpected for me.

I dont know what to say. Remember when he blasted Maguire on his first game? He’s way out of his league. It’s Karius every other game. No way to compete in anything with a keeper like that

I've given the guy a chance but despite what whoscored says he is comfortably the worst keeper in the top 6, potentially top 10. This is one of the most expensive keepers in the world. Its not just the mistakes but that they come from his poor goalkeeping technique. Its one thing losing concentration and making mistakes that way but his mistakes are almost all coming from his appaling goalkeeping technique. You could pretty much blame not getting out of the group on him....one of the most expensive goalkeepers.

We need a Van Der Sar in our goal. He is really the gold standard in relability. I hardly remember him making amateurish mistakes. We don't need a ball playing goalkeeper that can save a worldie once in a blue moon.

I am on about the simple fact when someone says "he was making blunders constantly over 4 months" when that isn't even remotely true, he had great games over that time, decent games, bad games, terrible games. It is not as straightforward as that. I am done with clownish extremes people post just for the sake of it.
People think "Oh you are defending him, saying he is not that bad". No, he was terrible this game, I am not blind, I am just against stupid extremes, knee jerk posts, our own player childish name calling and abuse etc. You can call him being terrible without childish abuse. Simple as that.
