Some cracking sporting events on at this time of year, not least of all the Masters.

Who do we fancy? Hard to look past Rory to be honest although Augusta could prove to be a difficult mental barrier for him to break down. I think Jason Day to finish in the top 5 isn't a bad bet, and I'll probably put like a euro each way on Snedeker at 40/1.

I found this to be really good: https://betting.betfair.com/golf/the-punter/us-masters-2015-betting-preview-020415-167.html - Think its at least worth skimming through!

Also, on the off chance that you don't have a Paddy Power account, you can get 20/1 on Rory to win it if you're a new customer.

I personally have no idea who will win but getting into this golf thing so will follow it this year. I'd go with this Bubba Watson fella ,Rory seems to fall apart everytime I have bet on him in the past.

I've backed Bubba at 12s, I think that's a much better price than Rory at 11/2

Bubba's won two of the last three Masters, and he's in brilliant form coming into the event.

If I had to pick one to win it I'd still say Rory, but the price just isn't worth it, in my opinion. His record at this course isn't that great, and he had his famous blow-up here too.

Kaymer at 90/1 might be a nice e/w bet. Sure, he's got a crap record here, but he's a two time major winner and his game does suit the course, so you never know.

I hope one of Fowler, Spieth or Rory wins it but I think Dustin Johnson will be the winner.

I'm predicting that Tiger misses the cut.

I've decided to start playing golf again this summer so naturally I'm going to be completely immersed in the Master's this weekend. Also, I have no idea who is good anymore, I assume Tiger will win it right?

Spieth or Bubba for me. Rory's an outside shot, but I wonder if he'll have mental issues if he hits the front. He collapsed spectacularly there a few years back.

Fowler stands out at 40/1 with his record here. Not sure if he has what it takes to get the job done over 4 days. Scott at 20/1 definitely has got what it takes although I'm not sure either of them has the form this season

Scott is apparently back with the long putter this week too

Tiger has no chance. He's not even ranked in the top 100 anymore. The tournament before last he missed the cut and in his last tournament he had to stop playing due to injury. There's big doubts over his fitness going into this too although he says he's feeling good.

5/6 to miss the cut is a bet I'm considering.

I'm pretty sure Rorys head is on right these days and if he's playing well enough to take a lead he'll hold on to it, he's not gonna repeat 2011.

The dream would be for Tiger to some how show up in top form and him and Rory to battle it out, but I doubt he'll make the cut.

I fancy fowler, he played really well in all the majors last year.
Just looking on Hills. He's been in pretty mediocre form this year but is tempting e/w at 35/1.
Stenson could be good at 22/1 but hasn't he had man flu lately and so not much practice?

EDIT: Gambling mate reckons Ryan Palmer and Billy Horschel as alternative 80/1 e/w bets

Ryan Palmer is not a bad bet at all
Solid form at the moment. Finished in a tie for 12th at Doral and was tied for 6th in the Texas Open last time...He also was quite good at Augusta back a few years ago

I can't shake this feeling that Martin Kaymer is going to win it.
I don't want to put a bet on because I really don't think he's got the game for Augusta but I can't get rid of the feeling.

Would love to see Rory do it. I'd say with his game, if he gets one green jacket he could go on to get 3 or 4 more.

Kaymer doesn't have the balls for it

Not for this...Not for me anyways.

Hoping Tiger just tears it up  *

*Providing the people I've bet on aren't in the running
Would love to see Tiger roll back the years. But I don't think he ever will.

Get your money on Jason Day.

I've had a little bet on Keegan Bradley as well at 80/1 played well at Houston last week.

Anyone watching the par 3 comp?

I've never watched it before, some of these little holes look crazy hard but it's a beautiful course.

Yup, a lovely opener to the tournament.
It's hilarious how much they believe the curse. players that are leading will kick the ball in the hole on the last to NR and not win.

 yea, Tiger earlier talked about being -6 one year so he hit two balls into the lake on 9!

Are those terrible streaming places showing the Par 3 contest again? Please feel free to send me any links so I can report them to the authorities promptly.

Did you see Nicklaus get the hole in one on the 4th?

Fair play to the fella, he still has a beautiful swing!

I've just bet on Couples for top senior at 3/1. I think it's a nice bet. His only realistic contenders are Jiminez, Singh and Langar for this. Singh and Langar have poor records at Augusta. Jiminez is a threat and he can be brilliant or terrible, but last years good finish doesnt compare to Freddie's amazing form here overall, he's Mr Consistency at the Masters.

I flicked the Par 3 challenge on last night and the first thing I saw was Jack Nicklaus handing out the high 5's. The magic started already. I'll be glued to this for the next 4 days. The official start of Spring for me.

I've done the same bet. Really confident!

Also have:
€5 on Rory to win
€5 on Day top 5 finish
€1 on Branden Grace top South African
€2 on Koepka top debutante
€1 on Dustin Johnson to win
€1 each way on Snedeker

Felt better about the bets when I did them yesterday than I do now, but I suppose at the very least I'll be thoroughly entertained over the next 4 days.

Can't wait!

What odds did you get on Rory? I'd have thought he'd be so low it's almost not worth it.

Most have him at 6/1 but I've just noticed Stan James have him at 10s. Must be a promo with restrictions though, you'd have though.
