Film Val Kilmer R.I.P

Fantastic actor. He hasn’t looked healthy for years so it’s not a huge shock but very sad nonetheless. RIP.

Sad news. I didn’t watch much of him aside from the Batman role which made him very famous. A very good looking man in his younger years. One of those who you felt should have one Hollywood’s main leading men in the 90s but maybe the elusive personality mentioned was the reason.

That is sad, but in all honesty I wasn't sure if he was still alive or not- knew he'd had health problems for years. He did some great films over the years.

Sad news to start the day

Always loved him as Jim Morrison in The Doors.
Looking at his works at imdb, lots of crap I've never seen but also som great stuff I remember from my childhood/teenage years like Top Secret, Top Gun, True Romance, Batman and Heat

Haven't seen Tombstone, gonna have to see if I can find it

He’s great in Tombstone.

Purely coincidental of course but I have this awful habit of reading up on someone properly for the first time, then they die within a couple of weeks

Was wondering recently what he was up to. Tombstone is the only thing I’ve seen him in (then the film with Warwick Davis). He was very good in Tombstone. I recommend it.

Heat, The Salton Sea, Real Genius, The Doors, Top Secret, Tombstone. He was always pretty good barring the years when he decided he was going to feck with everyone on set for no reason, like when he did Dr. Moreau. Frankenheimer said two of the best days of his life were when Val Kilmer said he’d be in his movie, and when Val Kilmer said he’d never be in another of his movies. I like that he bailed on Hollywood and just did his own thing in NM far from the limelight. RIP

That’s seriously spooky, I googled him last night to see what the latest news was with his health.

My father-in- law battled throat cancer much the same, and the impact on his life has been horrible. Seeing Kilmer brave appearing in Maverick the other year brought my wife to tears in the cinema,

65 is far too young, RIP.

feck cancer.

Heat is one of my favourite films and he was amazing in it. That gunfight outside the bank is incredible.

RIP.

Will always be Nick Rivers for me. One of my favourites

RIP Val Kilmer. Tombstone will always be my favourite Western. I'm so glad he gave us one last moment in Maverick. That was perfect. Rest easy legend.

Real Genius was one of my favorite movies as a kid, one of my oldest movie memories.

Willow! Also a favorite of mine as a kid, totally forgot about it. Fantastic effects for the era, great fairy tale type story.

Can you read up on @Pexbo please.

Sad news this, but it led to a hilarious whatsapp from my mum on our family group.

My daughter usually has a grandparents easter egg hunt at school, but hadn't heard anything about it this year. She asked if it was on, so I said I'd ring up and find out.

I responded this morning saying that it wasn't as there was an issue with not having a PTA chair to organise it.

Immediately after that, my son posted that Val Kilmer had died, and my mum put "Was she the PTA person that organised it?"

Really good actor, shame to see him to. As others have said, kiss kiss bang bang was a great movie, might rewatch it.

Not many can say they had as many iconic roles as he did, seriously impressive body of work during that 80/90's run.

That’s excellent

I know it wasn't a well received film but I really liked his performance as Philip in the movie Alexander. He was a great Jim Morrison too.

RIP.

As a kid I liked The Saint too. And I like it to this day.
