What I know for certain is that we're becoming much more efficient in our transfer dealings. Very good to see.
LindelON ?Trying to find puns for his name but I can't think of any.
Well. Have you seen him play RB more than in U-21 Euros? I´ve watched him, almost every game, play RB for ~3 years. Of course it wasn't on the same level as now, but I'm pretty confident he would be great as RB, depending on the system obv.For all those saying he can play as a DM or a RB, i am also a bit skeptical. (He have never played as a DM and only good as a RB in U-21 Euros). Lindelöf is fast and has great ball control for being a central defender, but is really nothing special if you see him as a DM or a RB. He may be able to become one, but isnt even near the quality that real DM and RBs have who is also finished players, unlike Lindelöf.
Meaning? What I know for certain is that we're becoming much more efficient in our transfer dealings. Very good to see.
Mourinho was very clear in wanting Bailly to be a CB.I have a feeling Mourinho will start to shape our defence something similar to;
New LB
Lindelof
Jones
Bailly
I don't really buy that. Going by sportswitness it would seem they merely added an additional link to lindelofLooks like we're interested in a different RB so Lindelof would be a CB.
I don't think it's a great idea to sell Smalling. He is a good to excellent CB. The only issue I have is inability to do anything major with possession (or even comfortably pass it at times). But his defending is something I like. I don't think it's fair to sell him because of a few poor games during injury.I have a hunch Smalling might move on. So it will be Rojo, Baily, Jones and Lindelof for our centre back options.
Not until now..Have the "he's big, strong, fast, hard, great on the ball, threat at set-pieces, world-class potential, best defender in the world" posts popped up yet?
Indeed. Bailly has to be our first choice CB and I think Mourinho sees him as a CB and not as a RB in the future.Mourinho was very clear in wanting Bailly to be a CB.
It's not that I want us to sell him, but I think Jose seems to have a problem with him and his recent drama during the injury.I don't really buy that. Going by sportswitness it would seem they merely added an additional link to lindelof

If Jose is looking to have a well balanced set of CB's I think Rojo will stay as a natural LCB.Yup, this is about right.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Blind and one of Jones/Rojo/Smalling be gone in the summer too.
I think that's Shaw? Did Smalling do something like that too? It's not that I want us to sell him, but I think Jose seems to have a problem with him and his recent drama during the injury.
in what way ? We don't need Bailly, Blind, Smalling, Jones, Rojo and VNLThat's quite contradicting isn't it?
Mourinho hinted at both Shaw and Smalling not wanting to play because they didn't feel right. Smalling's camp seemed to leak to the media that he was injured. Mourinho was very annoyed with the media and their 'sources'.I think that's Shaw? Did Smalling do something like that too?
But Smalling was injured and has only just come back from injury now. The entire ordeal was fecking stupid.Mourinho hinted at both Shaw and Smalling not wanting to play because they didn't feel right. Smalling's camp seemed to leak to the media that he was injured. Mourinho was very annoyed with the media and their 'sources'.
If they are so good then Lindelof have absolutely no chance of winning a first team placein what way ? We don't need Bailly, Blind, Smalling, Jones, Rojo and VNL
Not really. Is it completely out of the question that we keep all of our CBs?
A 38M centre back will play.If they are so good then Lindelof have absolutely no chance of winning a first team place
Did he play as a RB in Västerås? And he also did play as a RB in the EUROs when Lustig got injured. Nothing special in my opinion. Not world class material. And obviously being good as a RB in Superettan when you were 16 doesnt mean you will be good enough to play in that position in United when your 22.Well. Have you seen him play RB more than in U-21 Euros? I´ve watched him, almost every game, play RB for ~3 years. Wow!Would have no problem with Smalling or Rojo going if that is the case. Jones and Bailly are here to stay, which is excellent. Both our best defenders when fit.
Whats wow about that? Have we missed him? Lindelöf must be an upgrade if we buy him, at least thats what Jose thinks.Wow!

Yes. Have you not seen his display at RB? Plus Rojo is the one who should obviously make place.Have we missed Bailly?
I don't think Bailly was anything special at RB.Yes. Have you not seen his display at RB? Plus Rojo is the one who should obviously make place.
He is better than anything we have except for Valencia. Put Smalling there and you see the difference. Same for CB's. I wont talk anymore about Smalling in the Lindelöf thread.I don't think Bailly was anything special at RB.
Was he bought to play right back then?Yes. Have you not seen his display at RB? Plus Rojo is the one who should obviously make place.
LindeloffLindelON ?
No, the comparision was only to highlight what he offers that Smalling doesnt. Was he bought to play right back then?
Lets hope these Portuguese papers are making it up.Lindeloff
No. You said have we missed Smalling, in which I replied have we missed Bailly. No, the comparision was only to highlight what he offers that Smalling doesnt.
You're right. But you've overlooked the fact that Carvalho had 2 to 3 quality seasons as Porto's main man in defence. And this is when they'd won the UEFA Cup and the Champions League on the trot, not to mention the league titles. It's also given us the likes of Carvalho.
I trust Jose when it comes to centre backs, he gets it right most of the time.
Nope. I clearly said that Bailly should start in front of Rojo, because Rojo is an idiot. So yes, we missed Bailly, because Rojo was just lucky to not get sent off.No. You said have we missed Smalling, in which I replied have we missed Bailly.
The answer to both would be no, as we've been fine without both, which means by your thinking, we could get rid of Bailly too.
You thinking Bailly should start in front of Rojo is your opinion. However, it's fact that we have not missed Bailly since he's been injured.Nope. I clearly said that Bailly should start in front of Rojo, because Rojo is an idiot. So yes, we missed Bailly, because Rojo was just lucky to not get sent off.
