Wanyama should average more than that in the SPL. Hell, even Tiote averages more in the PL/Europa league.

Tiote makes a lot of passes. Just because he does, De Jong does, etc. doesnt mean Wanyama does. However if there is a stat to show that Wanyama is making that many passes even just in the SPL, its more reassuring than just assuming he can/will play that many passes. Because you know... Its reality.
He averages 28 IIRC in CL in their hoofball park the bus strategy. Think he should be over 40 when they have majority of possesion.

Wanyama is now fully aware of SAF's attention so we'll see how his game will evolve through 2nd half of the season.

I don't really have a clue about Celtic. I just think a natural step up from playing in SPL should be joining a team in a stronger league which is going to play you week in week out, not necessarily the strongest team that comes after a player.
Ki's starting to do very well for Swansea IMO. Played very well vs the renties.

Until very recently I'd barely watched him, and was very sceptical. But he does seem like he might be the real deal. Obviously his defensive work and work rate are impeccable, but he also seems to have a real quality of passing and decision making to go along with them, which is really the crucial thing for a DM aiming to join a top club. And only 21!
How is his mobility? He seems quite bulky
From the matches I've seen, Anderson-esque. Quite broad and looks like he shouldn't move too well, but he's actually fairly agile. Not the fastest, but has that ability to drive forwards powerfully.
Not bad at all, he's certainly not slow. Would certainly benefit from playing alongside Carrick IMO as I do find he wastes energy at times by pressuring the ball in areas it's not needed.
Sounds like a good prospect. I think we have room for a specialist defensive midfielder who is able to deal with more physical/aerial threats, and has the mobility to help out when our fullbacks are pushing forward. Phil Jones can do a job there but if Wanyama is as good as people are saying he could improve our squad.

I like Wanyama but I dont imagine Fergie will buy him. Dembele was a better fit for us and he didnt go for him.
I think he meant it more as in 'two of the big clubs', rather than 'THE two big clubs.' At least, it would make more sense if he did. In reputation at least, Arsenal are still a big European club.

I think it'd be a good move - he's not the sort of quality that should improve us, but we have a big gap in our squad for a proper DM, as understudy to Carrick and support for/an alternative to him when we need a more defensive line-up, so he would improve us. But as noted above Fergie didn't go for Dembele, and has shown no signs of particular interest in Wanyama. Plus he prefers to avoid African players where possible because of the ACN.
Agree would improve the squad as cover for Carrick but not the starting 11 or a midfield of Cleverley and Anderson. Understudy to Carrick possibly but think we should be aiming higher and looking for a player to play along side Carrick and let Cleverley or Anderson come in and partner them when Carrick is not picked. So if we bought a first 11 and also him as a potential I'd be happy as he is a very decent player a bit like Tiote of Newcastle but less imposing but better on the ball also younger and imo more potential to really improve.
