He wore earplugs too:

Timo Werner: "I haven't seen that atmosphere in my life. The noise got to the game and earplugs didn't work. I still don't feel well."

Subbed off after half an hour of the match. Besiktas won 2:0

I read somehwere he had circulation problems? Would be surprised if it was because of noise, thats what turkish media wish

That's how a stadium should sound. Kudos to the Home fans

It's been an odd season so far for things like this, Asensio's leg shaving injury, Marcelino pulling his hamstring while celebrating Valencia's goal the other night, and now Werner's lugs.

Some stupid posts in here. I've suffered hyperacuisis after a speaker blew up in my face and it was fecking hell to deal with even if I were earplugs for several months. In my case it went better over time though which I'm very thankful for today.

Of course it was a medical reason. Do you think he'd just give up on such a big game because the noise was bothering him?

Strange comments here. It is even possible some players suffer this medical condition for years which influences their game. They have to deal with 20,000+ people screaming their lungs out every 2 or 3 days for like 20, 30 years of their lives.

German media: Werner had a circulation problem.
Turkish media: We're so super awesome that he couldn't cope with a crowd of 40k.
Caf: We're cavemen.

He has a medical condition. But obviously he's a soft pussy according to some posters. :wenger:

Brutal. If it's hyperacuisis or something similar playing football would be very difficult. I suppose you have to give the Turkish crowds credit for being able to make such a racket.

I'd also imagine all opposition fans will suddenly get a lot louder for him.

To be honest I'm always surprised we don't see more footballers sidelined with migraines or whatever, it never seems to happen

Bundesliga clubs should take notes, another tactic against club more hated than PSG + SS combined. Now, all they need are couple of tens of thousands of loud Turks.

I suppose if Werner can get through games in Germany with earplugs he can get through 99% of crowds (certainly anything he'd face in England). Turkey must just be off the scale, you can tell it's seriously noisy on telly.

He should invest in a better quality ear plugs or wearing an external ear plugs previously adapted for safety reasons (not to injury other or himself).
If some players are allowed to wear special glasses, can't see why he would be forbiden to use an adapted version of ear plugs or headphones ear plugs.
