Well, I guess his market value, less 25-30% to cover the fact that he'll miss that number of games each season through bans 
The people valuing him at 35-40m are doing so on his ability, not his reputation. I'd say that most are in agreement that most top clubs would be skeptical of paying that kind of sum for a player that likes to feast on his opposition.
You can't deny his quality though, he's up there with the best in the game at the moment.

Minus his personality £35-40 million, reckon they'd let him go for £30-35 million though, given that he's liable to go off the handle and/or and get suspended for ~1/5 of your domestic games. At that price the board the bulk of the sensible scouse fans would probably say 'fair does, money to reinvest' etc.
Suarez the footballer is easily worth something north of £40million in today's market, Suarez the complete package is worth about £30million.

I really wouldn't be surprised at all if Suarez went for less than 20m.

£15m is, quite frankly, a fecking retarded estimate. Genuinely. Arguably the best player in the league this season, single-handedly carrying an awful team to a relatively decent league position. Surround him with decent players and he will only improve.

I think only one or two people may have said he was worth £15m and it has spiralled into the Caf stating he is only worth £15m. When in reality most have said he is worth between £30m and £40m including all his baggage.

I made this point to a Liverpool supporting mate of mine. Getting an offer of £40m for a wantaway striker with a history of violent conduct and racism and not thinking it's good value is ridiculous. I would have said £40m for Suarez minus transfer request and track record would have been a good deal.
atleast 35mill pounds in todays market. Then again, to a team like Liverpool he is probably priceless. Who else could they get to replicate Suarez' efforts? He is a right cnut, but one hell of a player for them.
