So he’s staying to oversee the next managerial appointment? Let’s hope Pochettino is willing to join us right now and this could all be sewn up by next week and Ed can feck off for good!

I think he’s so desperate for his tenure to be end in a positive light that he doesn’t want it to happen on this note.

It’s a lost cause. His time here has been largely shambolic for the club and will be remembered as such regardless of what happens in his final months. He will always be unpopular due to his role in the Glazer takeover and therefore his presence at the club will always be divisive.

Just go.
Not necessarily so. All that has to happen is him giving the footballing side of the club to footballing folk with absolute control and little to no interference and from the fruits of their labour, him taking the credit, and he'll end on a successful note.

Relinquishing said power and keeping himself as far away from footballing affairs is another story entirely, however.

If the right people get their hands on the jobs, the upward trend and growth in that area will look like some kind of godsend, so Woodward could easily end on a massive high despite his bumbling failures to date.

I won't believe he's gone until I see his resignation interview.

who knows really? Would you be surprised if it turns out Joel Glazer picks managers and certain players? Or does he just gets a final say on 2 or 3 options? In any case neither the owners nor Woodward really know football as well as you'd want. And for that United are fecked.
our main issue is appointing bad manager choices and extending their contracts too soon. Also getting mugged off in the transfer market (see how much we have spent). I am not sure how much the glazers or if its Woodward and his team

I'm starting to get the impression the Glazers are so hands off that Woody can just do what he likes. He probably called to ask and they just told him is it going to cost us any more money? No? yeah whatever.
Corrected it for you

It does make sense for him to stay whilst we get a new manager. Let's not forget that one of United's biggest ever mistake was letting Gill go at the same time as SAF but I have no faith in him getting it right. Insufferable man.

It is time for the match-going fans to restart belting out each and every anti-Glazer anti-Woodward chant there is.

Ban me if not - this club will never win a league title without a clear-out of those in charge. Woodword/Arnold etc. They are a useless bunch of crooks.

Be great if the protests could get going again.

The only hope is maybe there’s a tiny chance that Edwin would take over in the summer with Ten Hag…
probably not though, and Arnold will be the guy.

The story about him staying on as a consultant a few weeks ago (the story broke on TalkSport), so not surprised in any way. Unless we get the Glazers to some how sell up, we are stuck in this continuous mediocrity shit storm.

We will get put out the CL over the next two games, we will fall further behind in the league….effectively our season will be over and its not December yet

How this clown remains after presiding over what can only be described as the single biggest mishandling of a global sporting empire in living memory is a mystery.

The Glazers are genuine idiots who don’t give a crap about on field success. The guy just gave the man you just fired a new conract a few months ago, and has had a generally awful record hiring coaches….so you ask him to stay longer?

The only conclusion from that is that they don’t actually give a crap.

Also, the existing coaching staff will stay on regardless of who the interim coach is? Why? Jesus man.

Yep. This is exactly what plenty were trying to say in the protest thread a week ago. That was never the right time to do anything as it would have just been considered anti Ole, this news may just be a massive spark if it’s true.

Woodward is one of the biggest sources of our problems. Like Ole but worse, he seems to have no sense of his own limitiations and refuses to hire professionals to the jobs. He is everything that typifies a bad manager. How on earth the Glazers dont sack him or he doesnt have the self-awareness to resign is beyond him. He ahs overseen 3 terrible management appointments, each for different reasons but all with the same predictable outcomes (each manager reverted to type) and yet the answer is, lets keep him on to f*ck up the next appointment. Get him out of the club NOW

Look at the value of United before the Glazers took over compared to now, there's your answer why they want him to say. It's all about the money with the Glazers.

I didn't even have enough time to celebrate Ole's sacking.

Fecking shit.
